It can be done with any car that has Idrive.

Hi, it will work, you just need BimmerTech's Multimedia Interface. This is the "brain" of the system and is what integrates the SmartView and accessory cameras to your car.

Can you tell me if the OEM retrofit mounts the camera computer in the stock place, under the drivers dash?

Yes, our OEM rear view camera retrofit will allow you to mount the camera module in the stock location under the dashboard.

Hey Patrys!

I watched the video and see you're using an Apple TV 3 in there (obviously purchased separately ...).

I'm an Android guy, so there's a bit less functionality in the iOS ecosystem for me. Do you think it would be possible to use a Google Chromecast in it's place, or would there be interfacing problems with your MMI box?

Don't know how much they go for in Poland, but here they're pretty cheap, you could test one... (HINT!)

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated, I have the PP82DSP from you and love it. My Wife has been bugging me for a rear camera, and the Smartview HD looks very interesting.

If this is the same one I bought last November, then is integrates the Google maps seamlessly. My only complaint with it is having to go back to using the AUX cable.

What about sound? I mean can i stream the iPhone sound via blutooth (e.g Waze navigation)?
Is it possible to use it in split screen mode on idrive controll display?

I am not sure on split screen, I wouldn't think it works since you are using a totally different input source but I could be wrong.

But as for the Navigation your screen mirroring over airplay which does sound and video together. Its also what allows you to use apps like soundcloud and show the album art as well as the audio.

You can do split mode in cars with NAV.

Audio is played through Wifi not bluetooth connection.
