HU is your Headunit.
The headunit is the computer which controls your iDrive and the display.
The headunit has to be coded so that you see the button in the iDrive menu for the Kombi to remove the magnification (zoom) on the speedometer.

I had my HU coded for the 6WB. However the magnification option doesn't show up as configurable feature.

I am not sure it can be coded for that to be honest. Maybe someone can prove me wrong. But the magnification feature is awesome so I don't particularly mind

Hi there,

Apologies for joining to ask a question but I was wondering if I could get some help with fitting a 6WB to my 2017 F31?

Using E-Sys 3.33 and PSdZData Full 4.31.31

Following a YT guide I connected to the car using ICOM/Ethernet - I changed the IP address to that given in the "Connection via VIN"

Followed the guide to the letter and then came to the last page to Code DKombi. I'm stuck here as Code is greyed out. I clicked Detect CAF for SWE but again did not have the option to Code.

Not sure where I am going wrong. Having learned the hard way, assuming pressing lots of buttons will make it work and finding things are much much worse. I changed 6WB back to 6WA and refitted the old cluster.

Any help would be much appreciated!

PS - I noticed the cluster reading in KMs. If I get it working I could do with a nudge as to where the setting is to change to miles.

Always the same.

For a new ecu you always have to assing a new CAFD.
So mark the Kombi and on the right side hit the button "Detect CAF for SWE".
Then in the window that opens choose a CAFD you like, the bottom or the CAFD with the highest numbers. It doesn't matter which CAFD you choose because all are right.
Then hit the button "Code".

Kms to miles can be changed on the iDrive settings under cluster settings.

Yes, because these are simple FDL codings it should be possible by Bimmercode.

Cannot be coded entirely with BimmerCode.

He meant (if I understood him correctly) only the changes in the HU.
And that should be possible with Bimmercode.
The new 6WB Kombi of course cannot be coded with BC.

Understood. I still think the HU options cannot be coded with bimmercode. I certainly haven't found a way but hopefully someone proves me wrong. I would love to see some 6WB specific option on the HU.

I can write the differences between 6WA and 6WB today in the evening (7 hours from now).
E-Sys is also only changing these values in the HU so that the 6WB works perfectly together with the HU or you have some new menu item.

Here, as promised, the coding values for the HU if you retrofit the 6WB.
The starting point for these values is an existing 6WA Kombi.

ECO_INFO_DISPLAY nicht_aktiv (not active) = 00

HUD_KOMPRIMIERUNG_ART rle_1 = 00

LOUPE_TACHO_KOMBI aktiv (Active) = 01
DRIVE_MODE_KOMBI aktiv (Active) = 01
CALMING_KOMBI nicht_aktiv (not active) = 00
MFID_KOMBI_VARIANT aktiv (Active) = 01
KOMBIGUIDING_SCHALTBAR nicht_aktiv (not active) = 00
KOMBI_CIC kombi_high = 00
KOMBI_AUFLOESUNG aktiv (Active) = 01

With the value "LOUPE_TACHO_KOMBI" a new menu item appears with which you can deactivate the magnifying glass function in the Kombi.

And you should be able to find and code these values with Bimmercode.

Very cool. Any description of what all other options do? I'm curious what else I've been missing out on.

I coded the Loupe function in my 2016 LCI f30 and it doesn't show up on the iDrive unfortunately. Click attached image

Hmmmm...

You looked in the menu for the settings of the kombi?
And the menu for the settings of the kombi is there, but the entry for the Loupe function is missing?
I can't explain all of the other values, but some are available, for example, so that the HUD works properly.

Yes I enabled in expert mode the loupe function by making it active.
Then I'm the iDrive menus I went into Instrument Panel and the magnification isn't listed.

To be fair the magnification has always been active since I installed the 6WB. I just was hoping it could be configurable on the iDrive.
