Running any tune that produces unburned fuel to combust in the exhaust manifold/turbine housing does more damage to your turbos than the cats but we have quite a few customers with over 20k miles with the combination without issue

I'm looking for a catted downpipe for a 2015 F36 but can't find it on the vrsf site. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you, Tiago. What is the Downpipe Fix (CEL Delete) option? Not sure if I need this.

Dont get it. There is a entire thread where nobody can get this to work. Its a adapter that plugs into a wiring harness somewhere that stops the system from checking that sensor.

If you are gonna go catless your best bet is a tune. If you want to pass emissions go catted. But the so called fix has yet to work for people.

If you are handy and think you can do the cat work yourself keep your catted and throw it on whenever you need to pass emissions or take it in for warranty work. Though I think they can still see the cleared codes if they really look.

Im personally waiting on VRSFs new catted since they are going to be guaranteed no cells.

Thanks guys.

Yes the jb4 is on my list too. Trying to do things in a certain order. I am in South Florida so I have no emissions. I will go catted though. I've done test pipes on other cars and the smell is pretty intense.

So for those of you who have followed my previous suspension thread, you may already know I installed my VRSF catted downpipe last Friday at the Stance Shop in Astoria, Queens. I didn't get to drive the car home until last night due to the suspension issues I was dealing with, but now she's back and better than ever.

So let's start with Tiago@VRSF. Tiago got my product shipped out to me way faster than I expected. Packaging was nicely done and the product itself looked great. Love the VRSF logo on the downpipe. Adds to the aesthetics. & I've read all about the poor fitment issues all the N20/26 platforms are having with the downpipes. But there was not one fitment issue we ran into with my n55.

My mechanic did the install in record timing, I feel like it couldn't have been longer than 40 min. Once it was on the lift, he started taking off the OEM cat. The only issue we ran into was that the nut on the C clamp was rusted on. He put the blowtorch to it in hopes that would loosen it up, but it actually snapped in half due to corrosion. Luckily for me he had an extra one laying around the shop because I didn't order a new one with the VRSF downpipe.

First impressions: The note of the exhaust was changed pretty drastically IMO(for the better). Car sounds way more aggressive now and not so tame. I don't understand why BMW manufactures their cars so restrictive, but none the less the catted downpipe gave me the tone I was looking for. Burbles are more pronounced and when I close the valve on the MPE, car sounds stock again.
As for the drive, I feel like there's a lot less back pressure now. Car feels way more responsive. Can't wait to throw JB4 on it and reap some real power gains.
Oh yeah, and no CEL!

Enjoy the pics and the vid

How is the smell with the catted dp?

Catted downpipe should not have any noticeable smell

No real smell to be honest. Unless you stand behind the car of course. Went catted for that reason... didn't want any smell in the cabin with my little one.

Evening other people who care about high performance motors and cars,

I have ordered BMS intake, VRSF charge pipe, BMS front mount and the BMS JB+ tuner (as a half step until I do enough research to decide between JB4 and BM3 (but also still rsearching how much torque my 8HP can reliably hold for years with the kind of numbers those tuners put down)) and was just wondering how much power or performance a CATTED downpipe will really add to this setup for the additional money it will cost?

Also the item I am looking at appears to be E chasis only- not F chasis. I can't seem to find the link for the F-Chasis pipes.

New owner here- all help appreciated.
Cheers

Hi,
Your transmission is fine with stock turbo

Catted DP with the correct tune will add 20-25 HP

If you need help finding the correct products let me know

Not worth it for street cars but will make a difference on the track

Is there a time frame on these re-engineered DP's? I got a good deal on a dinan tune so (for now) not going JB4 route and don't want a CEL or to reset a code with the canflap every time I start my car. Thanks!
