Anyone who has a 2018 328i/335i factory installed maps has got the 2017 maps update installed?

Can you please throw a light on what has changed? Is there like a change history or release notes that i can refer to before making the move to get these updates?

Unfortunately BMW never posts a Change Log or Release Notes for any new map release, so one is always left wondering what specifically was added. We just know that with each new release, new streets, additional POI's, and additional 3D Maps are added, and improvements to the routing algorithm are made.

Thanks for that info Shawn. My 2013 335xi has currently 2013-1A OEM version installed.

I hope updating to 2017-1A is worth it.

Well, personally I think ever new release is worth updating to, if not for the streets, then for the updated POI database. Your current version is 4 years old, so in your case, the updates should be numerous.

2013-1A was only one with "A" Designation for whatever reason. All other versions are just -1 or -2. with the latest North America PREMIUM version being 2017-1.

It varies by map, but Europe PREMIUM East or West is about 16 Gb Compressed (.rar).
