The shiny finish on your wheel is made up of grease/dirt and moisture from your hands laying on top of the painted surface of the leather, any good leather cleaner applied with a soft brush and gently agitated will remove the surface grime.

Some people swear by Dr leather wipes I prefer Swissvax leather cleaner and a soft brush followed by a microfiber towel to dry and remove the excess.

Depending usage and mileage eventually you need to recover or buy a new wheel though if you want that showroom finish but that shouldn't be until well over 100k

I've tried a number of cleaners, and personally (no I'm not affiliated in any way!) I find the Dr Leather products to be very good. Especially the dye block, but that's another thing.

I use the wipes for convenience, as well as their cleaning properties.

As noted, there are a number of other options. Whichever you choose, I would suggest it is better to stick with though, as there can be some funny reactions if you start mixing products.

I was using Angelwax - heaven for leather prior to the Dr leather wipes, and found that to be pretty good too.

One thing I will say though, Darryl stands behind his products and offers the best after salres care and advice I've known for a car cleaning product.

Took a wander round Sytners the other day, and saw this 18k mile M4.....the steering wheel was fucking minging.

Hence my view that the standard leather on the wheels is shite. It must react to certain peoples sweat or something.
