Clearly they forced your hand on the last day of the month just to get better figures for the month, so for their benefit only. It wasn't fair play, FS says so as well, and now you expect something in return.

Spoke to the dealer, I wasn't really looking for compensation, I just wanted an email stating some things for my protection e.g 30 day right to reject starts from pickup not the day it was registered /additional 2 weeks warranty at the end of 3 years to make up for transport delay... that sort of thing.

I know they pulled a "slight" swerve registering it early but that won't be a bother so long as the car is straight.

I just want Saturday to bloody hurry up now - BMW transport are a pain in the "ss getting it to the dealer.

Absolutely delighted with the car so far. Im doing less than 8k miles a year so thought petrol was the way to go.
I'm doing around 18-19k miles/year and still thought petrol was the way to go this time...

Guys, what are your thoughts on being told a dealership doesn't do collections on the weekend? It's a used car (less than a year old), i have to travel around 150 miles to collect but been told bluntly no can do on the weekend by a 'covering' sales person, the person i dealt with orginally is out (sick) and wont be doing the handover - i'm a little annoyed to say the least.

Yeah that sounds like balls. Maybe they have too many scheduled. Where is the dealership?

Never heard that one before, especially if its a main dealer. Hand over takes all of 30 minutes tops unless you want them to show you how the indicators work.

I don’t think BMW fit indicators to their cars.......

I collected my last one from 200 miles away and collected on a Saturday. The one before that 40 miles away and on a Saturday. The one before that from 80 miles away and on a bank holiday Monday.

None were BMWs though - so if they wont sort it go and find a dealer and brand who will...

I'm being given the runaround by bmw transport somewhat. Car is in Southampton fresh off the boat, due Friday up north for Saturday collection (we go away Monday and it's 200 miles from dealer to mine).

Transport update says it hasn't left yet, but will definitely be there tomorrow....

... With a caveat worse case date of Monday.

Lol why even bother with the best case

I collected mine on a Saturday afternoon from Marshall's at Grimsby. My son came with me and the salesman picked us up from the train station. There were plenty of others collecting cars that day too.

Rather surprised any dealer is so busy in December that they can't manage to do a handover on a Saturday! The last two times I bought an AUC from a BMW main agent they were collected on a Saturday and a Bank Holiday Monday respectively; my current car (purchased new) was collected on a Sunday morning.

Sorted - been been made to feel a bit of an ar*e about it all, apparently weekends are reserved for appointments only, well fcuk me, isnt that what i'm trying to arrange? It's not like i just parachuted in unannounced!! Not impressed, will be sure to mention this if i get asked for feedback.

blueislander - where are you based? Maybe i can collect your car from southampton and you mine and we can meet half halfway to swap? i can test out launch control for you

is the steering on the 4GC supposed to be super light at slower speeds? Almost feels like I'm driving my wife's polo. Previous F30 saloon felt much weightier. Its nice while trying to park but even at regular driving speeds in urban areas - 20/30 - it is lighter than I'm used to.

I was surprised when I got mine that the standard steering was so light especially compared to the Mercedes I had before! Great for maneuvering and TBH it feels really well planted when whipping around some of the bendy roads down here in Somerset so I like it!

Old F11 was heavy and a right arm work out in sport. F36 is as light as my M140i was in comfort but heavier in sport.

might have to drive everywhere in sport then. Darn it

Is there a way to get the digital cockpit in sport to look like comfort? I like the digital speedo but don't like the garish red everywhere
