Getting this really bad rattling under or between center consol on hard accelerations

Dont really hear it just driving normal

Also hear it on the freeway

Let me know if anyone has had this issue or resolved this issue before thanks in advance

I had a rattle that was traced to the HVAC blower, which was loose its mounting.

Yup, I have that same exact rattle as well during WOT. Cruising on the highway I don’t hear it but under hard bumps it comes and goes away. Subscribed for more info.

i had something on my 328i similar before it ended up being something around the exhaust coming loose that would rattle under heavy acceleration

Sounds like the parking brake guide tube retention clip. They break, and under hard acceleration, the parking brake guide tubes will rub against the drive shaft.

I had the same noise, ordered the retaining clip from FCP euro ~ $9.00 and installed last weekend.

I have this exact same noise! It manifested when I installed my Borla S-Type a few weeks back and I actually made a thread about a week ago on it. I will look into the parking brake clip and HVAC blower listed in the thread and report back.

I am certain mine is not exhaust rubbing or anything like that, I've made so many adjustments to the exhaust trying to find the noise since it started after my exhaust install, perhaps I just bumped/broke the clip while installing it somehow.

My parking brake clip took forever to ship, so I'll be tackling it tomorrow. Any updates on the rattle/pics of the clip install?

Wanted to update: I replaced the parking brake clip and it fixed the issue! That is definitely what you have going on, mine sounded exactly like that.

The install is a bitch but doable and worth it to save $1k at the dealer. You have to lower the exhaust, remove the heat shield, loosen the gas tank down to the driveshaft to remove it. The new clip was still plastic and flimsy... I reinforced with some zip ties, hopefully it doesn't break again, but so glad to have it resolved!
