I like them, I just wish it was a bit more exciting to look at!

They do have their fan club, of course, but it is not something I'd be paying a premium for or going on a waiting list...

If you want the practicality, maybe look at an i20N...?

I like the idea of the GR86, but if I had an Alpine and a Caterham sitting in the garage I’m just not sure I’d use it. I’d be more tempted to get a car which can do something which those two can’t…

Indeed, even evo did a test comparing the Alpine and the GR86...

So if you had an Alpine, would you also buy a GR8, unlikely. Especially as there must be a crash coming soon, we've been told about it enough...?

ETA the link!

I sort of agree JD6 which is what is slightly holding me back.

The issue is as when the GF and I go down to Cornwall or up to the Lakes we have to take the UP as you just cant get all her gear and the dog in the Alpine and I am not driving all that way in her Fiat 500

I love the UP and it has been a hoot over the past few years but I think the GR86 would still provide the driving pleasure and the added space for the dog with the back seats down....... she is only a tiny terrier.

I am still on the hunt for a decent PCP deal on the '8' but there doesnt seem to be much about......... definitely going to go for the GC this time around though...... i do need a sensible car

From what I can work out Dave i can pick one up from stock at a smidge over list price which i havent got an issue with.

The i20N is a cracking package but it is too similar to the UP.

I really like it Bobba...... the design imo is not too fussy .... sort of old school if that makes sense.

Just out of interest, no one will be buying a brand new i20N or i30N soon. Both are being axed........

Sure there is plenty of 2nd hand about..

Only for Europe, though cos our Govs are trying to go all 'washing machines'.

Give it a few years, they may be back.

They do have a certain mid-1990's blandness. Still, you cannot see the outside from the driver's seat...

Sorry, I ought to have clarified that it's only run out stock left...

It's slightly worrying though what options those of us who cannot charge at home are going to actually have in the future... Hobson's Choice, by the look of it...
