Oh fair enough. I never owned an E46 but if the stiffness and safety really was the case on them and rear folding seats had negative effect on it then I do understand why it would be an optional thing. On F30 with the way they're built it's completely ridiculous and car of this standard and age should have rfs fitted as standard. Well, at least that's what I assumed when I bought mine only to discover my faux pas a couple of weeks later

I had the same issue when I bought mine, naively assumed the seats would fold. I fly model planes and getting a 2m wing in the F30 is doable but not easy. Was much easier in my e91 of course.

Thought about swapping out the seats, but finding split folding seats in coral red is next to impossible. Easier if you're after black dakota leather.

It's hard to find just rear seats in any colour. Easiest way would be to buy an entire black leather rfs interior.

I've seen some black rear seats before going for a very reasonable £100, but the cost to re-trim I suspect would make it not worthwhile.
