Retrofit lumbar support

Hello I've got msport seats in my base spec UK f30. However the lumbar support does not work. How do I go about retrofitting it. All the stuff is in the seat for it to work however when it is connected to my car the switch does not do anything
Many thanks

Would like to keep it electric mate. The seats have got all the wiring in it however when plugged into my car they do not work. Just wondering if it needs coding

Have you checked for power at the plug?

I'm slightly puzzled here. Are you wanting to retrofit the OEM adjustable lumbar support or do you have it factory fitted (both front seats have the 4 way rocker switch) and it doesn't work?

I have fitted msport seats which have lumbar support the old seats did not. And I cannot get the lumbar support to work. Everything in the seat is there for it however not working. Not sure if it needs coding or wiring?

Ahh, makes perfect sense now.

I'll have a look at the wiring diagrams tomorrow for you and let you know what you should be looking for (if someone doesn't beat me to it).

Out of interest was your car originally fitted with SE seats or sport seats with the side bolster adjustment and are the seats full electric?

Any does the side bolster adjustment work on the new seats?

No originally it came with bog standard manual seats in cloth. Literally couldn't get more basic no electric controls nothing. New seats are manual however have the switch on them. I have the rocker switch which I've always assumed that was lumbar it may be side bolster. Either way whatever it is that's what I'm trying to get to work mate
Thanks

If you only have the rocker switch, that’s side bolsters only. Lumbar also has a round switch that rocks in 4 directions.

I've attached a couple of wiring diagram images that might be useful.

One problem might be that BMW have an annoying habit of using different wiring harnesses based on your factory build.

In the case of the side bolsters (both front seats are fed from the same supply) they might not be wired up, or if they are then the fuse might not have been fitted, or both. Worth checking though.

Hope this helps.

Mine already had sports seats with electric inflating bolsters. That comes as standard on M-Sport cars....so I only fitted the manual inflating lumbar support.

Ok thanks.

Wasn't sure if anyone else had done the same as me and found a way of getting them to work

Revival, but for those like myself trying to find the solution to this problem... This thread may be useful:
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1293887&page=2

There are specific harnesses listed in this thread from Realoem.com, specific for cars coming from full manual, manual with bolstering, or full electric.
