First time coding on F series - please help
I recently bought a OBD2 enet cable and a enet to USB c adapter to connect to my android phone.
I plug in all the wires and can see light of the enet cable signalling there is power, and light on the enet to USB c adapter also signalling connection. But when I connect it to my phone and run MHD, Bimmercode or Protocols - I keep getting the message that no cable is detected. Interestingly on Protocols, it reads a connection but says the vehicle is not supported. What am I doing wrong here or is there a suspected fault? |

I believe the issue is that most Android phone devices dont supply a DHCP address as they have to act as a DHCP server when connecting to the car. Only some samsung devices work from what i read a while ago. If you can set the address as a static one on the phone then this will work but again a lot of android devices dont allow configuring of IP addresses on ethernet set up, limitation of Android im afraid. I ended up getting a bluetooth OBD and use Bimmercode with bluetooth.

I use a Veepeak Bluetooth adapter, no worries at all with Bimmercode. With Bimmer-tool Lite I have to go into the phone settings to connect the phone to it first, Bimmercode even does that by itself.
