I have the 6WA cluster with the HUD. My first impression of the digital cluster was that it is… flat. I prefer the analog gauges with actual needles, that’s just me.

Regarding one or the other, I have HUD and 6WB and my eyes are on the HUD 90% of the time but regardless it's nice having the 6WB. The display in sport mode definitely beats the 6WA look in general imo. |

I installed a 6WB about 4 months ago, night and day difference (pun intended). Really modernizes the cabin, actually makes me feel like I'm in a 2018 car lol. Having a backlight while driving during the day is a game changer for me. Plus its OEM, not the AliExpress special that makes it look like an iDrive 7 cluster. Would I do it again, yes. That being said I didn't do it for the features, mainly for looks.

I think I may just get the touchscreen for the NBT EVO and M Performance blackline tails. The functionality of the 6WB is not what I thought it was. If I could get media info on it, I would pony up the nearly 2K to get it, but I don't think it's a good return on investment.

You can of course get media info on it.
If you ask me - a touch screen is a much bigger waste - I for one never touch mine. It is ergonomically invonvenient (iDrive controller being so easy to use and at a natural place) and also I hate oily fingerprints….

I also retrofitted the touchscreen for Idrive. It’s great for CarPlay when the wheel can sometimes be inconvenient, but I still use the wheel for most of my actions. At least the touchscreen is only $350ish |

I used the touch screen a couple times on my old 430i but didn't like the smudges on the screen. I just use the iDrive wheel when using navigation and need to pan but will just zoom out and it works fine. It would be nice to be able to pan the map with the iDrive wheel but don't think it's possible.

Hey what do you know that works. You have to enable the interactive map whether you have the navigation going or not. It doesn't work while just viewing the map. Supposedly it used to until a previous software update according to another post at least.
