Trust but verify

So can anyone verify this is how it works?

These emails, the CA side only, started about two weeks ago. When I placed the order for a 335i M Sport on a Saturday he said he had a production slot for the next week. I like the CA and believe him but there is nothing wrong with "trust but verify". These are in order from yesterday to two weeks ago.

10/25/13. Not as of yet, I am wondering if the Active Cruise Control is slowing the start of production. I'll keep you posted. As long as it starts production this month it should arrive near the end of next month. BMW will put the car on a back burner when it is a specialty part. It is a pretty common thing to occur. Not to worry

10/19/13. The vin should post any day. The build week was this week, I don't know if perhaps the Active CC is delaying the start week. Overall your car should not be delayed much. I'll keep you posted.

10/13/13 As of yet your vin # has not posted.

That is what I thought too. So then why can't he give me a VIN number? And why does ACC delay the build until the end of the month?

I agree, you should at least ask for a production number.

I placed my order (also 335i M Sport) on 10/19, but the dealership entered the order into the system on 10/21, which is when I received a production number and a status 112 scheduled for production. When I called my CA a couple of days ago to ask about my VIN he said I would only get it when the car enters production, and he said I should expect delivery of my car within 3 months of order. The info I'm getting on this forum is that I should expect delivery earlier since I'm already at status 112, and should be into production within says...

To me, sounds like he is giving you the run around as he doesn't have a slot available. Also, ACC won't delay production of your car and once the car starts production, the VIN is available
