Attention Fellow Enthusiasts

I am new to this site and new to the BMW world so I may seem like an idiot to you all with my questions, but I hope at least a couple of you could give me some answers... I own a 2014 328d and I'm looking to get that deep rumble sound some other bimmers have. I have some questions for you all:

1. Can I put any muffler that is the same size as my stock muffler on my diesel car?
2. What are some brand recommendations for purchasing a muffler?
3. How easy are they to instal? Or should I have it done at a shop?
4. I heard upgrading your muffler can give you better gas milage, is this true?
5. Do I need to replace anything else when I do this? (ex: exhaust tip)
