winter tire pressure 225/45-18
Found some conflicting information and was hoping to get clarification on tire pressure for square setup 225/45-18 Xice3 non-run flat.
Car = 2018 340i (RWD) M-sport. Front = 34PSI? Rear = 39PSI? Wheel/tire combo purchased from TireRack. Thanks in advance. |

Googled the tire and found Loadindex 95 / maxload 690kg/ 1520 lbs AT 42 psi up to 160km/ 99m/h .
If you find GAWR's ( gross axle weight rating) , and give max technical carspeed, I can calculate with the official used formula, the pressure for that, but will most likely be that 34/39 psi For your normal use and used speed ( and wont go over for even a minute) it can be lower, estimate ( ooh dangerous) 34 all around. Also check the tires sidewall if my found LI was right and if XL / Reinforced/ extraload. |

The door is if you're all OE. If you're not, it's a good starting point but it becomes a trial and error exercise to find what feels/performs best.
Tire pressure is a big deal. On the honda, after 3 sets of coilovers and all sorts of suspension tweaks, it was a friggin tire pressure change that finally got the car to handle the way it was supposed to. I have the pilot alpins 245/40/18 and they seem to like 32/35 cold. Also be aware that heat and centrifugal force (more heat) will increase the pressure, so be aware/consistent with checking hot/cold. |

I’m running 35/41 on my Yoko snow tires.
Oh wait. Never mind me. I swapped to 17s for winter. |
