15’ 328i sound normal?

Hi! All found the car I want (already gotten the approval and trade in for my Altima). Visited the dealer today to look at the car again and everything checked out (one tire has curb rash that’s it) it only has 34k miles on it and I wanted to know if it sounded normal (my uncles shop is closed today so they can’t do the PPI right now). Just wondering if the car sounds ok via video to you guys.
Thanks in advance. Went back to 3 series because the 5 series I was interested Got sold.

Some stickers or wheel cover from the previous owner.

I looked at 3 of the N20s to see if they all sounded the same (one had 84k miles) and they all sounded the same. Doesn’t sound horrible but when I gave it a quick rev it could’ve been better. If everything goes good with the PPI next week then she’ll be mine.

A) the steering wheel is being replaced by the Audi dealer If I choose to purchase the car from them. So I won’t even waste my time to complain about it.
B) Don’t really get the obsession with people complaining about screen size. I have an IPhone so the navigation is pointless and so the large screen is also very pointless. This one has the Parking Sensors and rear camera and they work just fine with this screen.

Not about to keep wasting my time looking at shitty cars with hardly any service history just because they have the M-Sport pkg.

So in short no there are not any better cars for me....This one is checking my boxes for things I NEED instead of things that are optional to me. So unless this car shows up to be a total POS I’ll be buying it because it’s the perfect one for me.

@Czarcasm, i'm not sure you are aware, but vehicles born before March 2015 may develop problems with timing chain guides. timing chain guides were revised since.

although many (pre 3/15) have NOT had any problems with the TC guides, i'd consider one born after if feasible.

here is one thread, of many, regarding the said timing chain...

In my opinion no car with that mileage should have a steering wheel that looks like that. It would be a dead giveaway of a rolled back odometer. How is the leather on the driver side seat bolster?

The dealership told me an older man in his 50s (veteran) traded the car in and he had his name put on the steering wheel (they aren’t really stickers and idk why he put his name on it to begin with) and the detail guys couldn’t get it off and they used too much of an abrasive cleaner to get it off and it got stuck on the wheel and ruined the leather, but they are replacing the wheel for me if I purchase the car. He traded it on an CPO Audi A8.

I’ve heard. That was my main concern but with the lower mileage and my uncles shop I feel pretty safe purchasing a 3 series with the N20 engine.
I didn’t look at the build date for the car so I don’t know exactly what month it was built.

The leather seats in the car looks brand new. The last owner (old man in his 50s) took amazing care of the car. He bought it as a off lease car here in NC with 11k miles and then drove it until 34k miles. He had all of the oil changes and stuff done via a Indy shop (so none of it shows up on Carfax) but he brought in all of the paper work showing the oil changes done every 5k miles and the dealer showed me (I called and confirmed all of this with the shop as well). The car looks brand new on the exterior, it’s just the wheel because he had his name on the wheel and the detail guys couldn’t get it off and they ended up using a cleaner that was TOO abrasive and it damaged the leather on the wheel.

@Czarcasm, some people may take offense at 50 year old being called "old man". I am not even close to that age yet, and it stung nevertheless.

Not sure how old you are OP, but I'm 52 and don't feel like old guy. There are a lot of great people here in this forum 50 and more. One day you get there, to 50s and I wish you have great health: physical and mental.
Anyway, N20 and B46 engines sound like Diesel engine. So pretty normal what you presented.
Replacing the steering wheel will be I nice touch, good luck, F30s are beautiful.

I didn’t mean it as in a really old man I meant he’s an older guy. Sorry if it was offensive, I genuinely didn’t mean for it to come off that way.

Totally agree, how are the tires? At 34k it should still be riding on originals, check production dates

I’m in my early 20s. I didn’t mean for “old man” to come off as offensive haha. I apologize to anyone that I offended. I meant an Older Man not as in a super old man. Thank you for the input on the engine sound.
