f34 lci taillights retrofit connectors

Hey everyone, i've got a set of lci taillights for my f34, as i tought it was a similar swap as the f30s. Suprise! Connectors for inner lights are totally different even from the pre lci.
Does anyone have done this changing the connectors and wiring everything? are the pins in the f34 inner lights similar to the f30s so that you only swap the connectors and go ahead?
Then what's the connectors reference? I can't find that anywhere.
Please any help would be greatly apprieciated

Hello,

the connector is this one : 61132359992. Pin terminal is : MQS - 61131383776.

I've put together some documents when I was doing it, so feel free to use them for your retrofit: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/f...fW3Rhip3TTJsPX

Good luck

omg thank you so much Vortex.
Are the pictures you linked showing the final connectivity? I mean only 4 first pins used? Is there no need to connect the two inner lights like on the f30s? And is the programming similar too to the f30?
I mean i'm not a professionnal electrician but if i get the steps i can definitly do it.
Thank you again for your kind share Vortex!
Oh and the outers are same process as the f30s?

Hi, I should probably update the pictures there. There is one extra wire in each for inner turn signal.

You need to run the cable all the way from REM. The picture of the tailgate wiring can give you the idea on how the wire should go.

For the outers you just need to swap few pins in the main connector as per schematic in the word document.

Coding, there are 2 ways of doing that. Either adding HO-WORT and CODE REM with that new SALAPA element. However if you have older I-Step, it might not work. Then you would have to change all of the parameters manually.

I can help you with both and recommend which way to go if you'll tell me your vehicle I-Step level. I assume that you have E-Sys available?

Hi Vortex,

After seeing your posts and the pics you have posted, I thought I would give it a try myself. I have just purchased the set of LCI rear lights for my 3GT and want to fit the outers first. You mentioned it requires pins to be swapped. Do you have details on this as I could not figure it out from you document.

I found this info for a F30 online but not sure if this is the same for the F34

OUTER LEFT:
- 1 TO 2
- 2 TO 1
- 5 TO 4

OUTER RIGHT:
- 1 TO 2
- 2 TO 1
- 5 TO 4

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi,

for F34 it goes like this:

OUTER LEFT

5 -> 1

OUTER RIGHT

5 -> 1

INNER LEFT

1 -> 4
2 -> 6
4 -> 5

INNER RIGHT

2 -> 3
3 -> 6
1 -> 5

if you check the pre-LCI wire harness color vs function and compare to the LCI that could give you a picture on how it should be.

For inner turn indicators, you can either swap the whole harness, or add 2 wires from REM to the inner's light connector. Depends on what is easier for you to do.

If you need some explanation or you have other questions, just PM me.

I still need some more details, on the coding side of things, will drop Vortex8 a PM shortly (just got a new account so need to wait before that feature is unlocked

Hi Vortex8, I still cannot send a PM for some reason, I hope you don't mind my quick question: could you please let me know which pins on the REM the inner indicators need to plug into?

I have the REM pin details for F32 LCI tails, which has the same connectors as F34 but the wiring is different than your diagram so I am wondering whether the REM pins are also different. The pins listed in my F32 doc are:

Inner Left > REM 174*12b pin17
Inner Right > REM 174*14b pin12

Is that correct also for F34? if not could you pls advise which ones are right?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, for F34 inner lights it goes as this:

A174 is the connector

Inner Left > pin5
Inner Right > pin13

REM has dedicated pins for inner lights. The pins you've mentioned are for the outer lights.

Thank you so much Vortex, you're a legend!

I'll test it this week, already repinned one side and connected ok, plus ran all the cabling, so this info you sent is just what I needed right now

Thanks again!

In the essence yes. I would check the schematics, not sure if the wiring is the same as on F30, but all other steps are the same.

I've finished my Adaptive LED retrofit some months ago, so if you have any questions, just ask.

Is the wiring harness specific for F34? How do I search for all the wiring harnesses needed for this retrofit? (Any suggestions in Europe)

And guides on how to run the wires would be appreciated.

Don't know if there is a separate harness to order, but in the essence you just move some pins in the outer taillights and add 2 wires for the inner indicators.

I ended up with routing those 2 wires alongside the main trunk harness, from REM alongside the pillar, next to the hinges as the main harness goes.

Check your PM with some link to the pictures.
