Sound from the engine B48

Hi,

I have this noise coming from under the bonnet (more the left side of the engine). Any idea what it is? I cannot find any videos of other people with it and I've booked into BMW for the 9th to go back. I had this since new but never took notice as it's hard to hear but now I can hear it. The car is a 320i 2016 b48

The noise is the faint beeping noise. It's not the engine ticking so it's difficult to hear. Any idea? Thanks

Electronic wastegate. Noise is there in my car also.

I'm assuming it's not good to have it so car is going back until sorted. Annoying to say the least. I'm glad I haven't mapped it now or I would be in trouble as they'll check the boost and blame it on that

I don't know what it is, but would definitely not think it's the waste gate. Why would the waste gate make that noise?

I've managed to get it now looked at on the 3rd as they've got the manager looking now. Very annoyed as well door is leaking water in so hoping they can get it resolved.

Have the same issue on my 330. My dealership diagnosed it and said BMWNA is aware of the issue and has not issued a fix, the sound only occurs when the gas is below 1/4 tank.

wow, I don't think I've ever heard that beeping noise. That would drive me nuts!

hopefully they get it fixed.

This occurs for me all the time, regardless of tank amount. The car is also from the EU not america.

Vital signals are heard, IT'S LIVE !!! hehehe, already out of jokes, it may be the admission butterfly, in the N20 it sounds but it is continuous

someone once wrote that bmw fixed it. that it was a vanos unit oil seal but which seal.

My car has this same noise and has been having it for a good while now. I took it to BMW and it spent like 3 weeks in their shop back and forth and they replaced multiple parts, one being my VANOS Actuator and once they did that it muffled down in noise but it's still there. They can't seem to figure out exactly what it is.

Tracking it down would be time consuming, but not difficult. With all the clatter going on it's hard to tell where the beep is coming from, so you need to filter out the other noise sources. The way to do that would be with a directional microphone (like this: https://www.amazon.com/USKEYVISION-D...949558&sr=8-14 ) connected to a phone with headphones. Sweep the mic until you find the spot in the car where the beep is loudest.
