I took a stroll around town yesterday to snag some shots with my camera and not just my phone. You'll notice the IND painted reflectors in most of the pics, but I also got a few closeup shots of other parts I've added over since getting the car in October.

Close-up of the KUDA Base with Scosche Mag Mount
The first mod people notice when they get in the car and I set my phone down, although they think it's stock. To me that makes it the perfect option for holding the phone. Quality is top notch and the Mag Mount solution keeps it simple.

Life Update
So it's been over 5 months and not much has changed since the last post. Life has taken a different turn and I've changed companies in my career. After working as a consulting engineer for over 15 years and eventually becoming the engineering manager of the Civil/Structural Engineering at our company, I've taken a new opportunity to become the Director of Engineering at our local Port. It's been an exciting change and I've spent the last 4+ months getting acclimated to a new daily routine and responsibilities. I'm excited about what the future has in store for this next stage of my career. Car Update Because my priorities have been justifiably adjusted over the last 4+ months, work on the car has ceased other than maintenance washes and detailing. I'm starting to look into some new modifications to improve my daily 20-30 minute commute while also maybe changing up the look a bit. The short-term list of modifications I'm considering include...
Regarding long-term plans... I'm also considering getting several Dinan parts to qualify for the Dinan badge. Something about that has always intrigued me since I first became interested in BMW's a long time back. If I go that route, I'd get the intake, exhaust, springs, ride kit, and Shockware tune. That combination would give the the 10 Dinan points required to qualify for the badge. Depending on how the funds shake out, I may also opt for Stage 2 Tune (384 hp & 417 ft-lb). If I do get the badge, I'd want to paint it gloss black to keep the chrome away and be consistent with the Shadowline trim.

Shockware is one the least expensive modifications to improve M Adaptive suspension behavior. Nice choice.

Love how detailed your build has been, thanks for the update and congrats on the new job! I have an appreciation for you using to tier companies for your mods as well. I look forward to hearing your review of the dinan parts.

Considering pulling the trigger on these Akebono pads and throwing in a Bentley manual while I'm at it. Not sure whether or not to take on this pad swap myself or just bring it to a shop. I know it will get done quicker if I just take it somewhere. I'm liable to let these pads sit in a box in my garage for a couple months.

After doing some more reading on fitament and experiences with the M Sport brakes, I opted to go with the Posi-Quiet semi metallic pads instead of the Akebono ceramic option. I've used the Posi-Quiet in the pads and was happy with the low dust, low noice, and street performance. The front pads are delayed a couple weeks, so it looks like this project will wait until sometime in March.

Still loving it as it sits. I've got the Posi-Quiet pads sitting in the garage waiting to be installed...just need the time.
Debadged the trunk yesterday. Hadn't done this to a car since my '02 Civic. This brought back memories and I've got the missing fingerprints to prove it after rubbing off all the adhesive.

Made a detailing kit for those "emergency situations"...
Window Cleaner, Interior Cleaner, Spray-on Car Wash, and Detail Spray all in cobalt glass bottles with a microfiber towel. All of it rests in a kaizen foam insert in the tray on the side of the trunk. Put my initials in the roundel. Hoping I don't get sued for this pic.

Not really a car update, but it affects the car. I've been wanting to put down tiles on my garage floor for many years now and I finally went through with it. I used RaceDeck freeflow tiles in black, alloy (silver), and graphite (gray) color. Very satisfied with the outcome. Enjoy!

very nice, clean looking garage. Do you detail on the side or just your own personal setup for maintaining your car?

Car Update
I still have the Posi-Quiet pads taking up space in the garage, but now I've also got a set of Dinan Springs and their Supplemental Ride Quality Kit (i.e. bumpstops) ready to go on as well. I'll take care of all of that at once. I recently found out that a good friend of mine that owns a tint business has a lift that he's offered to let me use for the install. I'm going to be taking him up on that as soon as I can get a free Saturday when I'm finished coaching my son's soccer team (probably late-November or early-December). Short Term Plans After about a year's worth of back and forth taking myself into and out of carbon fiber on the car, I've elected to avoid it altogether. I like the cleanliness and overall "buisness class" aesthetic that the F30 335i has. The BBS wheels and Dinan Springs will offer just enough aggression and I think the carbon fiber would be a bit overkill for my personal taste. I can appreciate the look, but I don't think it's me. With that said, I will be opting for the IND gloss black painted roundels to add to the clean aesthetic and do away with even more of the chrome on the exterior. I may or may not do the IND painted keyhole delete since I almost don't even notice that anymore. Not sure what else I'll do to the car on the exterior after those few things. Long Term Plans I'd still like to do an intake and exhaust combination but I'm not necessarily married to Dinan anymore or the idea of pursuing the Dinan badge. I'm not sure what the best intake/exhaust companies are for the F30, but I plan to do more research into AWE, Eisenmann, Remus, M-Perf, Dinan, etc. One thing I do know is that I want black tips.

IND
I know I paid a pretty penny for them, but OEM emblems and top notch paint, shipping, and service were worth it.
