HELP WANTED so i dont waste my money

Hello mates, so i currently have the ugly 6.5 inch screen and i am looking to purchase the 8.8 inch screen on ebay. After extensive research on here it seems that for cars built after 3/14 should be equipped with HU_entrynav which is required for the plug and play plus coding as opposed to the HU_Champ which doesnt work. My car is built 7-11-14 but when i plugged it into Bimmercode my headunit shows as HU_CICHB. Will this mod work for me? Thanks

I had CICHB it will not work, that's just hu_entry

You need cic, entrynav, or nbt without it the screen will work but everything will stretch and look honestly not that great

Well I don't think it will work
You need HUentry nav at least to be able to do it.
I have changed mine and after some delving into the posts and looking at the pics of different units I went ahead and it works But as I say hu entry nav was the minimum required

Gotcha, so the screen will work without coding but just be stretched? Most posts say it will be blank. Because i may give it a shot if its functional just streched?

No, the screen won't work at all. You might as well buy something like BimmerTech's VividScreen, which should work, although the image will be a bit stretched.
