Well I've finally taken the plunge and signed an order for a used 718 Boxster S .
Late 2016 with 2 owners, 22k miles, lovely carmine Red, 350hp, sports exhaust, PDK, PASM, LED Lights etc...
From porsche so 2 yr OPC warranty.
£44k...
Well pleased.
Take delivery in early Feb (as I am hopefully going to drive to french Alps at hte end of Jan (today's french Gov announcement pending!) to go skiing at the end of Jan.. So i'll px my MB I'll after then.
I'm getting £20k for my MB as a trade in which is only 3k less than I paid for it 3 yrs ago with 20k more Miles on it, which is remarkable!!

Looks very nice.

Always though the Boxster is the best looking of the Porsche range, and that colour / wheel combo really works

Don't know... I'm going to px and cash buy the balance.
The WBAC price for this car is £37k, so the difference is their workshop costs to retail, £2k ish OPC for warranty & £5k ish profit I guess. There seems to be about 8-10k differential between WBAC and OPC retail.

It's hard to see it dropping below £30k trade for a long time

Congratulations, make sure we get some proper pics when you take delivery.

Out of curiosity which dealer did you use?

Mate, they are doing you a favour even selling you the car in the first place!

And yes I'm still on the waiting list for my 992 Turbo S.

Thanks
Porsche Cambridge … the price was so good, they actually took it off sale after my first enquiry to increase the price as they felt they had undervalued it!!!
I finally made the decision to go ahead yesterday and was gutted it was no longer for sale - i thought someone had snuck in an nabbed it from under my nose…
I emailed the sales person yesterday and got an out of office and i was so relieved when she called me back this morning and said it hadn’t sold and they would still honour the initial price

I have been told it could possibly be 2024 or later for mine and my sons GTS looks like it is slipping to well into 2023, it was for his 30th, at this rate he will be nearer to 40 than 30 and I will probably be 6 foot under

As JD6 said you could probably get a Lambo this year, which seems crazy.

Could work out as you'll end up with the face lifted one. No doubt it'll have another 20-30bhp!

I was asking the question in regards to a second hand boxster (no offence and put down intended to the OP, it's a very nice car), not a "pay over list, mega waiting list, only those in a special club, no muggles allowed, laugh at those who can't afford a cash purchase" brand new 911 turbo.

The answer is yes they do as the residuals are generally very strong, though it will be done to leave significant equity in the car too. What would grate is the 6.9% interest rate.

Porsche seems to be like Rolex - constraining supply on purpose and dealers make you have a purchase history before you can get the really sexy stuff?

OP - nice car

Nice, now that's going to bring a smile to your face each time you go to get in let alone hoon it down a twisty road.

Don't forget the slick marketing and consistent brand positioning, and pretty much unrivalled heritage.
I won't knock it though, as my Rolex is one of the few things I've bought, other than my homes, that's gone up significantly in value.
And I expect my Porsche will lose the least percentage of its value of any car I've owned.

I have never been a convertible fan. I test drove one of these a couple of years ago (wanted a cayman but they only had a boxster). It was middle of winter and drizzle. Thought sod it and put the roof down. Boy was i converted (pun!)

in the end i bought a MX5 for other reasons. Love it! the Boxster is on the plans in a few years.

Yours looks fabulous - Enjoy that new car!!! i am still surprised how many days the roof goes down in the UK.
(only had one near miss with a seagull!)
