retrofitting a lot

Hi so unfortunately i was in an accident in my 2013 335 but I still want to drive an f30 so I bought a second one except its x drive but same year.

The biggest problem is that my car had a lot of packages like comfort access, HK, blind spot detection, birds eye view camera, HUD. the new car is base besides the m sport.

I know it’s ambitious but what would be the best way to retrofit my packages to the other car considering i already have all the things i’d need? I thought about swapping over the entire harness but i’m not sure what the best to go about it is or how you all would do it

It is absolutly duable, but a huge job.

I think it is posibel to swap over the complete harness, again a huge job as you would have to thake most of the car apart.

I guess you have the old one, so it would be taking all the equipment from the old and mount into the new.

Then of cource some coding work, altering the VO to include the options from the old car and code all modules.

Retrofitting harman kardon means you pull all the seats out, remove the dashboard and replace it with the one having a hole for the center speaker or drilling one of your own. HK has 14 or 16 speakers and base has 6 so a ton of additional wiring needs to happen.

For all the other stuff as well you will most likely need to run additional wiring which you might not be comfortable with. Replacing the head unit requires a lot of coding.

Unless you have someone dependable probably it is easier to get the new car with the equipment you want.

Or if you like working on your car, and are comfortable to read and invest time. 2 years ago I knew nothing about car electronics. Today I have quite a bit of knowledge about BMW electronics and retrofitted quite a list on my car. But I have spent lots of hours reading on these forums, learning to read wire diagrams etc, learn to use real-oem.com to find the parts I need. Learn e-sys to code my car. etc.

You have to start somewhere. I started with something as simple as paddle shift and then tow bar. I really liked doing it and that kickstarted to investigate things and now I even have soft close on my F48, which was never released on F48.

Everything is doable. Question is are you willing to learn on the way and are prepared to put in the hours and the effort (and the cash)?

And you can take shortcuts, drop the center speaker of HK but do all the others.
I would recommend go aftermarket or B&O/B&W, there is an excellent guide on B&O on this forum. HK is not that good, and also center speaker is not needed for good audio. I had center speaker when I bought the car but now I have aftermarket 10 channel amp I disconnected it. Also if you don't have HUD, you might want to get a new dashboard anyway and put in both that and the center speaker.

Whatever you decide, you will be spending quite some cash and time, but if you like doing it. Why not
