Variable light distribution S8S4 option

Hello, I was wondering if I enable the VLD option that's been decoded on my car, what would it do exactly? I have the LED headlights, but not the adaptive.

It changes the direction of light output based on speed.

Thank you. Since I do not have adaptive headlights could I still benefit from this? Also would this make my headlights turn with my steering?

I'm not 100% sure, but a lot of old threads on this seem to say you need adaptive headlights first to be able to unlock it.

The one thing that is confusing me is, if that is the case why would they need to decode VLD in the first place if you don't have adaptive.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. Don't know why they'd decode it in the first place.

Why? IIRC, it's illegal in the USA. Crazy, but apparently true.

Old thread but it was technically illegal because it somehow counted as flashing white lights thus fell under emergency light restrictions since EMS/Fire/Police have flashing white lights.

I think now they’ve repealed that ruling as I know a year or two ago dealers started accepting WO to remove the coding.

If you have adaptive lights you can safely decode this.
