BimmerUtility
Not a great experience with this, information and documentation is really poor from them. Software just doesn’t do anything for me at all!
Rob Hebb has next to no communication skills and is just a rude man. I can’t advise you waste money on this, seems like I made a bad call here and should have opted for BimmerCode. |

bimmercode can not do everything BU can do.
Many ppl have no issues with BU as it works perfectly for them. While nothing is 100%, i would personally recommend BU over bimmercode but it’s a personal preference. It all depends on what you are needing to do. |

For easy of use I highly recommend bimmercode’s ProTool. Does everything esys can do including VO coding and mostly automated. Only caveat is it’s android only, but I have an old android phone that I use just for this.

Don’t order BimmerUtility from this guy Rob Hebb, he doesn’t like giving support if there is an issue.
Also very petty as he has now blocked my licence code and robbed me of over a $100 The guy is a fraud, avoid at all costs. Looks like I’ll have to do a chargeback on his ass, who runs a business like that, idiot of a man. Last edited by JimboMoss77; 02-16-2025 at 01:30 PM.. |

So I'm guessing what happened here is that you screwed something up and then started harassing Hebb through email until he blocked you and now you're having a tantrum about it trying to steer people away from bimmerutility. Grow up

I see that I'm not alone! I was experiencing issues while trying to code my BMW G30 using BimmerUtility. The application crashed frequently during the coding process, leading to several problems. After attempting to write a backup, the application crashed again, resulting in missing CAFD files for some of the ECUs. BimmerUtility wasn't able to recover these files (yet another error).
I was able to reproduce this issue and sent instructions and a video to their support, along with exceptions from the event viewer. They proposed some workarounds as a solution... (which still didn't work). After several messages, they said they couldn't reproduce the issue but would make some adjustments (this was in January). Interestingly, they didn’t ask for any additional data. Another thing I found curious is that the installation file we download from them has a rather old modification date. I suspect that the application hasn’t been updated for quite some time. It's written in .NET Core 3.1, which lost support in 2022. I asked for a refund twice and was told it's not possible. No fixes have been released. When I asked for the company details, they simply stopped responding. In fact, none of their emails were signed with a name or company name, making it harder to assert consumer rights. Fortunately, I was able to file a chargeback with my card issuer - let’s see how that goes. But overall, I do not recommend this software. |
