10.25" Android Multimedia screen fitted
Got my Android screen fitted to my F30 last night, essentially the new screen is an Android tablet inside but built specifically for BMW 3 & 4 series cars as an aftermarket replacement display. It is a 10.25" full HD 1080p touchscreen display running the latest Android OS, optimised for BMW cars.
It has a host of features including Navigation, internet browser, DVD playback, to name but a few. Whilst the system runs a stand alone Android OS, a quick tap on one of the options on the screen brings you back to BMW original idrive system should you need to change any car settings. Full HD 1080P music videos and movies can also be watched full screen in high definition, uploaded onto the system via USB. Im very pleased with the smoothness and responsiveness of the screen, it goes above and beyond my expectations of it, it looks and feels OEM and it is a true multimedia experience in your car, a great solution for anyone looking to upgrade from their very basic screen or pro nav screen. Please note, this is not the Avin USA screen you have saw elsewhere on the forum, they seem to have major build quality issues. This one is much different has been developed for use on the European market. |

Looks great. How much out of interest and how easy was it to fit?

Looks good, does it have it's own SIM card fitted for updates or is it all done through your phone? I assume this gives you Google maps with real time traffic updates so will be interesting to hear if it's a big improvement on BMW's. Does it work with the voice control?

That is a smart bit of kit, and no compromises as you can go back to idrive!

Looks awesome! Where did you get I from?
What did you upgrade from my 2014 F30 has EntryHu with commbox as it came with enhanced Bluetooth (option 6NS I think), wonder if that cause any issues. Sorry for all the questions but I really want this one. - Do you have OEM reverse camera and/or PDC, does that still work, as in changes automatically when you enter reverse? - Did you connect it to the AUX in port on the existing head unit? Or is all the connections via the CAN bus? |

The camera I don't have, but it's something I feel would be useful to add onto it, music I use from my USB drive in the stock slot under the arm rest, the video audio and YouTube audio will come from the aux port next to that. |

I got the Avin one a while ago, its a great upgrade and only cost £360...
Get yourself a Wi-Fi OBD2 adapter and use the Torque app to get some dials on the screen, coolant temp, dpf temp etc all very useful and look cool... to car nerds! |

The unit in the DIY install video is the old gen1 unit that has been discontinued.
AVINUSA posted a bunch of photos of their new gen2 unit that is supposed to be a lot better and fixes the problems of the previous gen1. Can you post photos of the back of your unit so we can compare the difference between yours and AVIN gen2? |
