I don't think many has experience with multiple of these and can provide a comparison. I went with the Avin one purely as they seem to support it going forward, provides software updates etc.

Get yourself a Wi-Fi OBD2 adapter and use the Torque app to get some dials on the screen, coolant temp, dpf temp etc all very useful and look cool... to car nerds!

Notice you said DPF temp, I've just posted a question in off topic about this, please tell me more... what adaptor are you using ?

Ebay has a german unit which looks ok, but costs more as its from europe.

Would handy if there was a uk distributor.

Does CarPlay work for you? Including directions in maps?

I'm having trouble with the directions being stuck in loading. Avin folks haven't got a solution yet, tried upgrading both the Android gizmo and the CarPlay app.

I didn't opt for CarPlay at this moment in time I'm afraid. I may add it later.

It comes with a wealth of cables. It has a new connector to the screen, adds gps, an extra 2 USB ports, has a camera connection, aux connection and the main harness clips into the head unit and the original harness connects into the new one.

So a bit more cabling

I just got a new AVIN unit for my wife's car, hopefully the gen 2 unit corrects the issues people have reported with the original. I'll update this post and report back when I get a chance to install it if there are any issues.

Hopefully it's good because I'd like one for mine too and it's HUGE

Based on their site, looks like the new Gen 2 is compatible with NBT evo. It is very tempting. I was always curious on how it integrates with the existing reverse cams and such, but it looks like its seamless.

Can someone confirm? Would i need to bother with their GPS cable if i already have the navigation in my car? If we throw it in reverse, automatically bring up the backup cam?

Mine changes automatically to the iDrive side and display the OEM reverse camera when I go into reverse
