Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires?
** 2016 340i w/ 2VF adaptive suspension **
Hi all, I am about to get a set of 19" wheels (19 X 8.5 & 19 X 9.5) and am looking into Michelin tires. I've had a few sets of Michelin A/S 3+ previously and am now considering a Michelin A/S GT tire - the Michelin Primacy Tour A/S. I drive 98% on the highway as a straight commuter and would really enjoy the smooth and quiet ride the Primacy Tour A/S provides. The A/S 3+ is more sporty for sure, wears quickly, and is a bit more loud. Trouble is the Primacy Tour A/S comes in limited 19" sizes. Would 225/45/19 front and 255/45/19 rear cause any issues (rubbing, speedometer error, etc.)? The OEM 19" is 225/40/19 and 255/35/19... I imagine the Primacy Tour A/S sizes above may be a bit too tall? Thanks for the advice in advance! Thank you.

Funnily enough I am in the process of switching from Grand Touring All Seasons to Michelin A/3 3+. Arriving at Costco later this week.
Stock rim diameter is 26 inches. 225/45/19 would be 3.4% taller at 27 inches which is a bit too tall. (rubbing possible, speedo would read higher) Most people say ideal for 19 would be stock sizes or 235/40/19 and 265/35/19 which is only slightly taller than OEM. (26.4) Maybe try to find a grand touring all season in one of those size? Are you open to tires other than Michelin? For example Vredestein Quatrac Pro or Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrac are both very quiet and well rounded tires. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests...y.jsp?ttid=244 BTW, according to Tire Rack the Primacy comes in 225/40/19 and 255/40/19 so you could just go with the stock sizes. You will have more options if you do 19x8.5 all around for a square setup. Last edited by danperson1; 10-14-2019 at 06:38 PM.. |

agreed on the MPS4S tires are THE BEST! i would go with them but i can't risk driving on SUMMER only tires in the winter. sucks for me.
