Has Anybody in the US had recent luck with an Individual Paint or Interior Request?

Just curious to see if BMWNA/AG is a little more open to Individual requests now that production is well under way.

That's not what he's talking about.

As to the OP... I don't recall anyone actually trying, yet, in the US. That could kick a 3er up to $70K without too much effort!

If one went after every Individual option, I'm sure it could go even higher than that.

Last time I heard, individual paint was around $3,500. Not too sure about the cost of an Individual interior. Still dreaming of EBII over Saddle Brown or Everest Grey.

For the E9x M3s, the Individual paint was $5K. Individual interior was around the same price, maybe less depending on what you had done.

I don't even know if Individual for the 3er (non ///M) makes much since for BMW to offer. Once you get into the $70K range, the type of person who will go that route is probably more inclined to go up in performance (think M3), or just bump it up another couple of notches for a 5-series or 6-series.

Wow! They really do increase the cost for you. All told, my individual options came to just a shade under £3000 ($4800). That was the paint, the interior leather and the trims.

For more information there's this:

I don't know if any of it will come to the US market but it'll give you an idea of what there is.

The why not just order vinyl from BMW and go aftermarket for the upholstery?

Yeah, we pay a lot for individualization, but the molestation without any lubricant is free.

The Individual catalogue you linked to (thanks) shows their suite of pre-selected individual options, but my understanding is that it's also possible to have them do "one-offs" if it's approved by BMWAG. For example, a friend of mine has a U.S.-spec Dakar Yellow e46 M3 and some ///M owners have had success getting customized stitching colors on their interiors.

Need proof? Check out this e90 M3 in Atlantis Blue Metallic...

Or this e90 M3 in Dakar Yellow...

I'd order the car with ZPP, which automatically specs leather, but point taken on the aftermarket upholstery. I'd just rather have it from the factory.

It's possible but not yet in the USA. There's no set pricing in this case.
