AC help!! Air is cold but is blowing much slower than normal

Out of nowhere my AC air pressure has almost completely stopped working? Air is still cool/cold, but only a small amount of air is coming out of the vents even when turned to full speed… I would say at full blast it's coming out like it would normally on low. I have a 19' 430i. Any ideas what could cause this?

Probably 5-8,000 miles ago. So not sure that that's the issue. It also happened immediately; not gradually

Sounds like the evaporator is probably freezing over. Common issue. If you google it you'll find a service bulletin (TSB 640613 I think).

Do I need to go in to fix? Or it will just defrost and be fine?

The temporary fix is to shut off the AC but keep regular air flow on for a few min. It will thaw out and work normally after that. If it happens on a regular basis then go to the dealer for a fix.

Also try raising the temperature. What can happen is that the coils start to freeze over in very humid weather, so the airflow is reduced. The usual reaction is to lower the temperature, which only makes it worse. I used to work at a motel where the window ACs were undersized. On a hot and humid day we'd regularly find the thermostat turned all the way down with zero airflow, because there were two inches of ice on the coils.
