Comfort access possible antenna issue
I'm having a bit of an issue with my comfort access. At the driver's door I have to stand basically with my pocket against the door for comfort access to lock or unlock and occasionally I'll get a message that the fob isn't recognized when starting the car.
The passenger door works as expected as well as the trunk. Both keys do this. Could this be an issue with the antenna on the driver's side?

Copying my post from another thread about same subject. I am still having the issue and tempted to replace the antenna under the drivers side skirt.
Quote Have/had a similar issue myself with no resolution. It’s intermittent with the key fob not being detected. I did eventually visit the dealer and while they kept the car for two days they were unable to duplicate the issue. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1833458 However now I am starting to have comfort access issue on the drivers side. Not all the time but intermittent. Starting to think it’s the door lock actuator? Could it be the culprit not unlocking the drivers door? Un-quote |

Yes both fob batteries are new and I just have the inserts that project the BMW logo onto the ground.

not sure about wally's issue, but heifetz, are those projectors factory or aftermarket?
in the old days, aftermarket puddle lights would mess with comfort access. if they're aftermarket, remove them and see if the issue persists, if so then you and wally might have the same issue |

They're aftermarket, but have been installed for longer than I've been having this issue. It's worth a shot I suppose, I'll unplug them and test.

Not your issue OP (since it's one side and not the other), but for others having comfort access issues that effects both sides, I noticed that it stops working when the iDrive controller on the console is unplugged.
I had unplugged the controlled + mode switches while working on my wireless charging retro-fit, and CA just didn't work with both unplugged. |
