I'm looking to get a bm3 license in the next couple days, but I don't have a dp yet. I'll be buying the dp at the same time as getting the flash done, however they don't have time to do a dp install right now. Question is:

Which map should I run until I get the dp installed? I have intake, fmic, chargepipe, and exhaust done. Should I just flash to stage 2 right away since I'll be getting the DP installed within a week or two?

Thanks!

Looks good to me! A little boost creep in 3rd gear but the DME is closing throttle to compensate.

You probably forgot to enter your vin when buying it. Email them and they’ll sort you out real quick.

For those on stage 2 tune with NGK 97506 spark plugs. Would it be safe to switch back to stock tune/Stage 1 without having any misfire/rough running problems?

Ptf are trying a tcu flash for the torque limitation in 3rd and 6th of the 8hp box. Has anyone got this flash yet and tried it? Is it just a removal of the limitations or are they improving shift speed as well?

Would like to know this as well. It's the only thing holding me from getting the xHP tcu flash.

Any "fix" PTF come up with to get around the 3rd and 6th gear limits will potentially damage your transmission clutches because the line pressure will not be raised for the extra power.

Edit: I can't read. Above it was mentioned that it will be a TCU flash, that would be very interesting...

Pulled the trigger on bm3 today. Went over to CTS Turbo and they set it up for me. However.....

They set my OTS map to stage 2 91octane, even though I use exclusively chevron 94. Is this a problem? Does anyone have experience with the OTS maps and Vancouver gas? I tried doing a third gear data log, I'm not sure how everyone saves them and cleans them up nicely but I'll insert it anyway.

Third gear, roughly 20kph to 130kph, relatively flat terrain, 20C, stage 2 91 map with chevron 94

I think I'm just going to buy the st2 93 map, however I don't know if it will be knocking badly like the guys at CTS said.

Any info would be great!

Click on the log then hit share link then select the link and copy then paste it here. Nobody can evaluate that log looking at a picture of it.

They are likely correct that the ots 93 octane map will be too aggressive for shitty western Canadian 94 octane that in reality is barely 91 octane. Make sure your car is running strong on the 91 map before even trying the 93 map.

Fixed, my bad. Perusing the graph I don't see anything that strikes me as a problem, however I'm quite new to this so that's why I came to the forum to seek input. thanks

Timing is absolutely terrible. Definitely don't try to run a higher octane tune your gas is total crap. Try a different gas station wow the car was pulling negative timing that entire pull.

Your wgdc is also oddly high throughout the pull which may be indicative of a boost leak.

i mean i hope thats what they are going for

I'm dumb and glossed over the fact that it was a TCU flash, my mistake. I'm very interested to see a TCU flash from PTF.

Chevron 94 is not good enough for 93+ maps.

bootmod3 OBD WiFi Agent Network Name Change from Mac OS Command Line

I got tired of renaming my phone to connect via hot spot to my WiFI agent to connect to bootmod3. There are instructions on how to edit the network information in the device firmware using a Windows PC on the bootmod3 site.

This works if you have access to PC, but it can also be done from your Mac OS computer using the built in SSH client software that came with it. Here's how...

bootmod3 OBD agent device comes preconfigured with the bootmod3 WIFI network name. To change it to a different network name, follow these steps from a Mac OS machine:

  1. Connect your OBD WiFi Agent device to your Mac’s USB port for power and then connect and ethernet cable between the Mac and the OBD WiFi agent device
Once the device starts in about 30 seconds it will be ready to access via the Terminal at IP 169.254.0.2

  2. Open Terminal app

Press the key combination command + spacebar on your keyboard to search for “terminal.app”

  3. Once the Terminal app launches type
    Code:
    ssh bm3@169.254.0.2
    and press the return key

  4. When prompted enter the password as
    Code:
    bootmod3

On the first attempt to connect you may be asked in so many words to verify if you want to continue. Type yes and press the return key

  5. Enter the following command to open the Nano text editor within the Terminal app and edit the default WiFi network settings in the wpa_supplicant.conf file:

    Code:
    sudo nano /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

  6. Edit the ssid and psk fields between the quotation marks.

SSID = Your Phones Hotspot Name
PSK = Your Phones Hotspot Password

  7. Save your edits by pressing the key combination control + o on your keyboard.

You will be asked to confirm the file name. DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME. Just press the return key on your keyboard.

A message will display saying [ Wrote 9 lines ] This means the file was saved successfully.

  8. Exit the Nano editor by pressing the key combination control + x on your keyboard.

  9. Quit your connection to the OBD WiFi Agent device by typing logout in the Terminal app.

  10. You can close the Terminal app now as well.

Probably a dumb question, do i need a flex fuel sensor to run e30 with the ots map (n55)? How does this sensor integrate with the ots file does it pull timing if eth levels are too low? as i am thinking of getting a stage 2 lpfp and wondering if i need this sensor and how it will work with bm3?
thanks

No you don't need the sensor but I would recommend the Ethanol content tester (https://www.fuel-it.com/ethanol-content-tester/) then use an e85 calculator (http://www.georgebelton.com/E85Calculator.php) to figure out how much gasoline and ethanol to mix. With true E85 I mix 4 gals of E85 with 12 gals of 93 octane which gets me 96 octane and a 28.9% ethanol mix.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with dropouts and disconnections? I have a pixel 3 and it refuses to just stay running smoothly. Kind of annoying since the whole point of the obd agent was to prevent having to use a laptop for logging and stuff.

The dashboard will often freeze when I go WOT. Ill finish my pull and the dashboard will be stuck at 6500 rpm, etc. Until I re identify the agent.
