Your cabin looks AMAZING.

What about the other CF pieces? Not listed. The large center console piece, and the dashboard piece, etc? Any chance you have links on those. It's always more comforting to buy from places that you know others have been happy.

Thanks man, really appreciate it. I think I'm pretty much done at this point except for an Alcantara dash wrap that I need to work up the courage to do.

I went with genuine OEM F80 trim I picked up off eBay. Just did a quick search and looks like this could work..

There is also an Ali option

I don't know the actual LED chip supplier. I will run some before/after illumination tests and report back. Hopefully going to work on getting these installed tomorrow so I can get them out of my living room.

I'm thinking of buying either these tips
https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0JkHrs
Or these tips.
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrkXWT4
Was thinking about a gloss finish. But concerned about how they'd look after a while, esp with the effect heat will have in the lacquer...

Those gloss do look good. Probably easier to clean as well.

I mean for the money you can just swap them out every year lol

I went with 60mm for my MPE. I'm still waiting on them but I'm hopeful it will work. I had to hunt through this thread https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1339852

60mm isnt the correct size for MPE. 67mm is the correct size. I ordered aftermarket tips for my MPE and had to order 67mm, they fit perfectly.

Well, I *didn't* have an AliExpress addiction before now...

I am always hesitant to buy from there because frankly I have never really trusted it, but then I consider all of the same crap I buy from Amazon and it's all coming from the same place.

Definitely going to check out the steering wheel wrap, that's about the first I have seen that looks like it's appropriately cut for the shape of the wheel. Thanks for the links and also GFY for providing the links

So I have installed all three variations of the wheel wrap at this point. The first one in the pics was the Alcantara which while feeling nice, was obviously not going to hold up to my greasy hands. Then, I accidentally ordered the PU leather rather than the genuine. I installed it but after awhile I decided I might as well try the genuine leather. The genuine leather is by far the way to go and the best fit.

Which MPE, the 328i?

I just went out a measured and now I'm thinking I might need to get a smaller size. The thread suggested 58mm OD but I'm getting 56mm for the pipe size. OD on the tips is 70mm, not much clearance between so I'd stick with that.

You can't measure with the tip on, and its universal to all MPE's as BMW only makes 1 size MPE tips for all F chassis, 328,335,340,M3, etc...

The tip you're measuring is a slip on over the exhaust, so when you measure where the tip starts, is not the measurement you need to take. You need to take that tip off, by loosening the screw on the bottom, and measure the exhaust that's currently covered by the tip.

You can even check sites that sell aftermarket tips, they all list MPE as 67mm:

58mm is the final answer for the 328i MPE.

The link you sent is for the >335i MPE which must have a larger exhaust pipe. Also the OD wouldn't work because the spacing between pipes is closer for the N20/N26 exhaust.

But glad you challenged me because I was about to buy smaller tips. Instead, the ones I bought should work great.

Heads up, don't buy those exhaust tips. First off they stick out way too far. Secondly they're too wide at the outlet. Fail pics attached.

I know for the stock exhausts, there was a nub that locked the old tips in and people had to shave it down for the new tips to fit in correctly. I'm not sure if yours has it, but wanted to throw that out just in case

Yeah I could push them back in further but the pipe goes down to 56mm and I can't torque the clamp down any tighter.

Could get a size smaller but the issue is the outlet OD is 80mm where as OEM is 70mm and the pipes are too damn close together.

Yeah and I'd wager they are actually coming from the same factory line.

I mean I like Brian but I'm not going to just hand him the $500 difference for drop shipping lol
