Beltline aluminum trim restoration?
My new-to-me F30 has the bright trim on the beltline of the doors and the upper reveal. It looks like it has been etched by something used in the past and I'd like to clean it up. I tried some Black Diamond polish and it took a good portion of it out, but there's more to go. Any ideas?

We have a 2015 convertible we bought new with the same issue on the rear deck trim that runs side to side below the back window. I have polished it like crazy with several types of metal polish and it got a little better but is still very visible. It's like the metal is turning whitish.

Looks similar to ours. You can see where our convertible top has protected the trim and it still looks good compared to the exposed portion. The car has always been garaged at work and home. And of course our warranty recently ended when I discovered this couldn't be polished off.

You have to polish it with jewelers rouge of differing levels in order to get it clean and shiny again. I attached some small buffing wheels to drill and went to town after taping everything off. After I was done I applied CarPro DLUX to the trim to protect it from further damage and it has held up nicely.
