I plan on going FBO (CP, FMIC, and catted DP) and running Stage 1 and eventually Stage 2. It's a daily commuter (stuck in stop-and-go traffic for the better part of my ~50 mi commute) and don't plan on tracking the car. I'm torn between the two VRSF HD models and the CSF. Which would you recommend for my needs?
The model names have changed since then. For a stage 2 application i recommend a 6 - 6.5" intercooler. CSF & VRSF 6.5" Competition are both really good options for your build

I have both and they fit together perfectly. I'll post a log tomorrow. Just installed the intercooler today. It's supposed to be a 1:1 of the $700+ wagner intercooler. People have tested it and said that it performs just about the same, but for only $220!
When you compare this to a Wagner, are you referring to the Performance (bar & plate) or the Competition (tube & fin)? Also, would there be any fitment issues if I wanted to pair this FMIC w/ a brandname CP, such as the CTS Turbo?

I would like to see the data where people say the eBay knock off is the same as Wagner.

Thanks Mike! Considering the price difference between the two is over $100, is the CSF worth the premium over the VRSF 6.5" according to logs/data? Would love to know the differences between the two before I commit to one over the other.

Me too!! Awesome deal last month on the AA FMIC from Mike at X-HP. My installer said it was a breeze to put in also.

its best to read forum member reviews on both these intercoolers. Being a vendor of both im going to get in trouble no matter what i say

Tbh i'm not completely sure, i just remember a thread that somebody had posted, and they said this intercooler was made to the exact spec of a "$700+ wagner intercooler". It will fit with any chargepipe, even the stock. The manufacturer claims perfect fitment, and many others have had success with the installation.

Here's the thread I discovered it on: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1298400

https://datazap.me/u/alpinen55/log-1...og=0&data=7-14

First log I've ever taken in my life lol, not too sure if I did it right.. but still. Got down to temps as low as 109°F

I have the Evo 2 style ebay intercooler, I guess a newer version? And it fits perfectly with my cts charge pipe.

Got it from https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F192864099093

I think I can clear up some of the confusion on the Wagner naming conventions.

BAR & PLATE DESIGNS
Heavier, less costly, emphasis on higher rev driving such as track use
a) Wagner Performance EVO1
b) Wagner Performance EVO2

TUBE & FIN DESIGNS
Lighter, quicker flow, emphasis on less turbo lag from starts and in daily driving
c) Wagner Competition EVO1
d) Wagner Competition EVO2

All four Wagners install easily in the stock FMIC position with no cutting required

EVO2 is larger than EVO1,
EVO1 is larger than stock intercooler

Both EVO1's have exactly same dimensions

Both EVO2's have exactly same dimensions

Your IAT is very high and rises up past 120! But no that is not a proper log. Put the car in manual 4th gear with DSC fully off and shifter in M/S. Start at 2500rpms and hold it until 6800rpms.

I'm new around here and just wanted to chime in. I installed the CTS turbo FMIC and CTS turbo charge pipe and so far I am happy with it. The fitment was like OEM.

This was the first log I had ever taken, few days later I posted logs on the MHD thread.. here's a better one:
https://datazap.me/u/alpinen55/3rd-g...=0&data=3-7-14

It was about 100 degrees outside during both of these pulls.

Are you running the XHP tune by any chance?

Reason I ask is because your getting hitting the torque limiter
