Thunderhill also has compression braking zones (like the downhill braking zone going into T10), and I've never had rubbing issues there, however neither Thunderhill or Sonoma has the short and deep dips that Laguna does. My front ride height is about 13-3/4" hub to fender. Lowered a bit (maybe 3/4"), but not slammed by any means. I was running PFC-08 pads at Laguna and the last time I was at Thunderhill.

Hi Guys, sorry bringing up an old thread, i’m looking to upsize my current track day setup from 18x9 - 245/40 to 18x9.5 265/35 to have more grip. Both setup is squared.

My question is, what kind of offset should i use for 9.5? Tyres is RE71RS, Car has ohlins R&T on it.

38 to 35 offset should work fine. Ive run both, no issues running either offset. you'll need a spacer upfront to run that setup. rear will clear with some camber out back.

Can someone confirm 245/40/18 squared on arc8 et30 will fit on stock 335i m sport with no mods?

My tire shop has my wheels now and they say it will rub if they install.

That should fit. According to the Apex figment guide, it's a direct fit.
I had the same wheel and tire specs on my 2014 335i xDrive without much problem. However, I had camber plates and about 2.2 degrees camber in the front. Though there seemed to be enough space that it should fit with stock alignment. You may need a little extra camber in the rear to avoid rubbing. I had to, but I think there was something a little out of wack in my rear suspension.

They'll fit, you can even fit 255/40/18 if you wish. I run 255/40/18 on 18x9 ET30 squared, on stock alignment, I do have Dinan springs which may have increased camber, but there was about a inch and a bit of space at full lock before it would touch the fender wells.

It also depends on which tire brand/model you're running as well as some tires tread may be taller or skinnier. I've had good luck with Michelin PS4s and AS4.

I've settled on 18x8.5 square with 255/40/18 MPSS tires. I figure the most I would do is run RE-71R on the track in that size and if that's not enough, I just need better skills and/or better car.
Hey Polo, what was your offset for those 18x8.5 wheels? I'm considering the same setup with the ARC-8

It was ET38. However, I strongly recommend you to just get 18x9 ET30-31. It will clear almost all aftermarket coilovers that reduce tire to strut clearance. It will also fit with the standard/stock suspension.

The increased concavity looks better as well.
