Disklok possibly prevents a theft

I came across this video from a stolen cars group on Facebook, they use the frequency extender but one the gang notice the Disklok and move away swiftly.

I have used the Disklok along with the Ghost since collecting the car, and it gives me a piece of mind, as many have mentioned it’s about layers of security, not just one product.

Anyways I’m glad it worked to keep these from taking someone’s pride and joy.

It explains it a lot more than I ever can. It's been a great little product especially when the car is parked up for a few hours and I don't want to put the Disklok on.

Looks more like they went to do the mystical keyless scan and it brought up nothing so they left.

Ahhhh Yeh I thought it would be that! Does it not annoy you though having to press a sequence of buttons before you set off every time?

But even if the keyless scan worked they couldn't take the car without removing the disklok ...and I don't see them carrying any cutting/grinding tools .. they clearly want to perform a fast keyless gone on 60 seconds theft and then notice the disklok and move on to another car without one on.

I think most cars are pretty safe with a disklok on .. unless it's a more rare car specifically targeted to order they'll just take another one like yours further up the estate instead.

Perfect combination ... the disklok as the visual deterrent to put off most the thieves even attempting to take it.. and the ghost just in case your cars parked somewhere isolated were they get brave enough to make a lot of noise using a grinder for 10minutes on your disklok!

I doesn't bother me at all, it's like second nature now. It's been handy with the cold weather I can start the and not worry about someone driving away.

It still baffles me that not everyone has a Disklock , it is the BEST deterrent money can buy!

It looks s4it. It's a pain to carry around and fit. It will rattle about in the car when not in use. It may mark the steering wheel (and other items when removing). They are not infallible. Insurance and GAP cover theft.

Hateful looking thing, it's the automotive equivalent of a chastity belt and I don't like those either.

Not specifying keyless entry is quite a good security upgrade. For once I'm pleased that BMW are a bit mean with their standard spec!

I don't have a Disklock for the numerous reasons mentioned above, but I do have an alarmed garage where the cars are parked. It is still fairly difficult to steal a car without the key.

This, and if you use BimmerCode to de-activate 'sound horn when locking car with engine running' you don't wake the family/neighbours either.

Shame the CCTV couldn't pick up the Scumbags Reg number.
With the amount of thefts of Steering wheels/ airbags in my area I always fit my Disklok, even in the garage.

I find the disklok leaves marks on my steering wheel, even with the steering wheel cover fitted.

I'm using the small one and purchased the official Disklok cover and storage bag.

Haven't had any long lasting damage to the steering wheel since I started to use it in October.
