Can't be? Muting an active call
4 Series LCI - surely there must be another way for a call to be muted and unmuted other than through the iDrive? I keep cutting myself off from calls as I leave it on the mic mute option and if you don't use it quick enough it goes to the end call.
Its driving me nuts (and also pretty distracting) - is there really no other way? |

You could programme one of the preset buttons (I don't but it should be possible).

Seriously though it's a fairly phone specific feature so to me seems fine that it's displayed on the I drive within and active call.

Nope doesn't seem to be - nothing on the Msport wheel to support it. Quote:
The mute option across phones is pretty consistent - I don't want to have a phone on my screen (I don't think it will be long before that's banned too given people keep putting them right in the eyeline of the road! I need the mute option to work as 19" runflats on concrete are not what work wants to hear in the background of all my calls. Spent last week in a colleagues E220 and he has the button right where it should be, on the steering wheel right by your finger! |

Actually, forget that I don't think it does what you're asking.

Yeah thats not what im trying I don't think
The weird thing Is I just gave back my 520D company car, a 63 plate F10 and if you had it on mute it stayed on mute so you could just hit the top of the iDrive, but for some reason on the LCI iDrive its hopping back to end call itself, not staying on the menu option I have highlighted at the time...annoying |

Top suggestion. I was reading this the other day wondering what people was moaning about when you can just turn the mic off but this seems like an ideal solution
