Rear view camera

I've recently aquired my 440i coupe with rear view camera, i've never had this on my previous cars.
When I engage reverse I get the rear view as expected but I don't get the green and red guidelines, should I or can I configure it?

You can configure it in vehicle settings, can't remember exactly where, if in doubt RTFM.

In the camera screen you've got the options on the left hand side. It'll be one of those.

Kefalonia was great. Mrs treated me to a trip there on our engagement. It was very quite baked then 18 years ago, great times!

Re the camera, yes there are settings to display the guide lines, have a little dabble in the menus.

As above.
Only appears when the camera is on. It's those 2 options on the left marked with a P.
The one at the top turns the camera on & off so you can switch the sensors to full scree without the camera if you prefer.

Interesting towbar icon though. I don't have that. @chris-c What does it do?

it zooms in on the tow hook that I've got.

To be fair I bought the car from a dealer 200 miles away, they delivered it and took my 340i away, all negotiations were done by phone and email and it all went very smoothly, a bit of trust involved on both sides, they hadn't even seen photos of my car and accepted my description of it's condition, I accept that it's not the same experience as collecting the car personally.

On the topic of this - is there a way to have the camera come on when you press the PDC manual activation button? I've to manually do this every time!

nope - either manually, or quicker to poke it into reverse quickly (assuming your stopped)
