Cosmetic repair insurance
Hi all, I’m after an opinion on BMW provided cosmetic repair insurance. After what has been a griefy wait for my car with some logistical issues that have been resolved, I am due to collect my 335 on Wednesday next week. I’m being offered the insurance for £338, no excess, 15 claims in 3 year thing. Couple of questions, is this worth it firstly? Also I’m confused as to what a flat horizontal surface is defined as? On one hand they say damage on that it isn’t covered, then on the next page it is
Am I right in thinking the fhs is the bonnet etc? Ive had a cheaper quote from Ala but they specifically exclude the bonnet, so if the BMW policy includes then it may be worth it. Help |

I had a recent quote for a job by Chips Away and they would not repair anything on the bonnet - probably too hard to match up invisibly. Maybe thats your flat surface?

Personally never had it and never needed it either.
I have combined tyre and wheel insurance (inc diamond cut) and on my last F30 I had nail so got a new tyre; it basically paid for itself in one claim. Oh, and GAP too.

I have it and used it recently for a nasty stone chip on my bonnet. Paid no excess and someone from Dent Wizard came out and touched it up, sanded it down a bit and finished with polish. Great job, highly recommended.

Came from Barons Cambridge, but the policy they sell is provided by AutoProtect. I think different dealers sell different policies.

Flat surface is mainly roof, it's an area where it is difficult to get a smart fix and possibly expensive to repair as well, hence not covered
That is a decent quote to be honest, I got mine privately and paid about £220 I think for 3 years for 9 claims, considering cost / claim ratio the bmw policy works out cheaper As to weather it is worth it, I feel so, far too frequently u have people opening their doors or reversing into you carelessly, I got it for peace of mind really |
