Best isofix car seat group 2-3

So the little one has reached 4 and we need bigger car seats.

Just bought the Kinderkraft Expander isofix seat and although it fits in the 2nd car it doesn't fit in the 4 series (well it does if you don't mind not using the seat belt!). The way the seats are in the 4 series once the seat is clipped into the isofix you can't get to the seat belt buckle.

Are there any recommendations for group 2/3 isofix car seats that fit well in the 4 series?

I've got the Britax Romer Advansafix - my 4YO can reach the buckle by herlself - mine is the F34 though. Maybe you can go to Halfords or John Lewis and see if they let you try a few seats...

I've got the Joie Bold which is a group 1-2-3, my son is 3 and half so removed the stage 1 padding, the good thing with this seat is you can use the 5 point harness until they are 25kg. You can also get to the seat belt buckle once the isofix is clipped in and it has a top tether for extra security. so I would recommend it.

We have the Romer Kidfix II XP SICT in our Octavia, and the Recaro Monza in the F30, both have a similar base footprint and both leave access to the seatbelt clip.

I've got the BMW car seat and it's excellent, my daughter loves it's, she's 6 now and still plenty of room to grow.

On switching to the 4GC, I had to replace my 7 yr old daughters seat, with one with an isofix mount to stop it sliding over the seat belt clip.
One trip to Halfrauds later, £90 on a Britax Romer SL and job done. Really nicely made seat IMO.
The seats are relatively narrow (but still wide if you know what I mean) but she still has to rotate the seat belt to clip it in, but at least she can now do this herself, and more importantly in an accident she could get herself out of the seat (which she struggled with before).

I notice they are currently even cheaper, at £81.45 on their website.

I think they’re rebranded Britax seats aren’t they?

Recaro Monza IS or if you don't need it for when the child is small then the Monza 2 which is essentially the same seat minus the bit that turns it in to a group 1. Nice car seat for £130.

On another note how much of a PITA is the BMW rear bench setup in the 3 series (particularly F31 but guessing it's all the same). It seems very narrow due to the extra bit of side support at either end of the bench which brings the 2 outer seats inwards. This means there is next to no chance of fitting a small person inbetween two car seats and it's also very difficult to plug the belt in as the bit you plug it in to is almost under the seat.

Both my kids are in Cybex Solution Z-fix seats. They're really comfortable as they grow and have great protection as well.
