What do you mean highlighted?

I've got the petrol stations and restaurants all showing on the map...

It's called the "refuelling recommendation" in the manual?

Hi @swanseahammer sorry just seen your question, have you tried everything in this thread?

For some reason my Office text messages has started working!

I haven't done anything differently at all, but now all text messages come up as the little icon at top of screen, and i can go in and read them or have the lady inside the dashboard read them to me!

And this is with an iphone 5S @F30AM !

Emails still don't seem to work though.

Does anyone within a 150 mile radius of Sheffield want to earn some reddies by coding this feature on my June build f30 with pro nav but no EBT?

I guess to add Internet option then you need a token? Office menu is now present for me but still no text messages, or emails but I am using an iPhone! Doh!

You need an FSC code to activate internet, costs a few hundred pounds i think!

Office text messages should work, mine just started randomly working a few weeks after coding EBT! Though no use to me as i have my phone in a brodit holder.

I installed everything on a Windows 8 laptop and couldn't get it to recognise the VIN. I ended up installing it on another laptop running W7 but then realised it was probably because I had AVG and Firewall enabled (after Shawn pointed me in the right direction)

It was a little unnerving for me because although I'd say I'm highly computer literate - this was the furthest I'd ventured in to the unknown with potentially disturbing consequences.

Note to BMW: If you were more reasonable with what is included in your already expensive media packages, and ensured that your dealers actually knew what is and isn't included in them, your customers wouldn't be forced in to taking matters in to their own hands!

Just finished coding EBT and it could not have gone any smoother. Thanks Teaston for writing this guide and of course thanks to shawnsheridan...

Maybe it is a known fact, but I coded from a separate profile. This way I did not have to reload the profiles for the misses and myself. 5min task, but still...

There is no FSC Enabling Code required for Internet.

What is needed is a CIC / NBT Head Unit with updated services based on a whitelisted VIN with factory Internet Option.

I have no idea what that means, but thanks for clearing it up. Basically it's not worth doing when you can just use internet on your phone instead.

Coding EBT

I'm awaiting arrival of new X3 (company car), with Media Professional. But I didn't order EBT as my company won't allow it! I read on here that it may be possible to code this, but my experience in installing coding software is dismal. Anyone in the North Derbyshire area (or I can travel) care to help me with the coding in exchange for beer tokens?

Would coding show up at a service and affect the warranty?

After locating the combox in the boot of my no-nav wk 14 build F31 I've finally got around to trying to code in EBT at lunch today, with success.

Followed this guide (massive thanks) and having got the coding files from shawnsheridan all worked no problem.

The only difference to the guide addendum at the beginning of this thread is that you apply the code on HU_ENTRY instead of the HU_CHAMP2.

Didn't bother with Voice Control as I wasn't bothered with that and not sure if it would work or mess something up anyway.

Absolute result!
