having just replaced my rears at the indie fitter I normally use, he pointed out ( with some glee) that the worn out tyres fitted by ats supplied by black circles were different load ratings across the rears 96y and 93y!!

I never looked that closely 12k miles ago, ats clearly didn't either.

Apparently it's an mot fail (if I needed one)

I have emailed and have pictures on my phone, not sure what they could / would do. Technically I have worn out a tyre I didn't order!

Personally I think if you go to the garage/ black curves they'll do a lot of denying and Buck passing.

Probably better just to email them both simply to make a point and if they make any offers of recompense etc treat that as a bonus.

I had similar a few years ago. I bought my E90 335d from Stephen James Ruxley and they'd had new rear tyres fitted.
It was only when I came to change the tyres, a good year later, I was shown that one wasn't a RFT!!

This could have been nasty, but I got away with it!!

I contacted SJR and to their credit, they paid for one of the replacements!!

Proves you have to take care to check for yourself.

When I had my last set of PSSs fitted I mentioned to the fitted (as he handed back my keys) how much better the PSS was than RFTs... he said 'but you've bought Sport 3s for the rear'....!

Turns out Black Circles sent the wrong rear tyres, the fitter didn't check the order and just fitted what was delivered. It was BC mistake and they replaced the next day.

If I'd driven off in the car I would have accepted it and hey would not have changed them apparently!

I emailed bc first, they sold the tyres. No reply as yet though.

Tbh the reality is I have worn the tyre out and the cost is pretty equal, the "only" issue is I have done 12k miles on what I assume is an illegal tyre setup.

Best case I get some vouchers from BC I guess, worst they ignore me and I post the pictures only
