Spring and damper combo

Hi all,

I'm a fairly new F34 owner, and after doing some research I'm thinking a set of ACS springs with some Bilstein B6's MIGHT do the trick for what I'm after. What I'm looking for is the slight lowering of the ACS springs without too much spring rate change, but also looking for a sportier ride in general. I'm a bit worried that going with the ACS springs on the stock (non adaptive) shocks is going to be a bit bouncy. Therefore also thinking some B6's would be a great idea since the ACS springs are supposed to work with stock shocks.

Another option seems to be the Bilstein B8 with Eibach pro kit. This would potentially give a similarly lowered feel, but from what I see a MUCH stiffer suspension. Not sure that's what I'm after.

I have seen some threads here where people have done springs, but there's very little info on damper changes. Anyone else here who has done these changes? Looking for people with experience.

Thanks,

Phil

Has anybody with the ACS springs done a shock change with them?

Are people who have ACS springs only pretty content with the result?

i have been thinking of it. The acs spring kit is £335 odd to buy and Labour costs might add another 400 indy or 1000 odd bmw.

I've decided since I'm gonna keep this car for a while I'm just gonna go with the full ACS suspension kit. Springs and shocks. They quoted about 1550 for the whole kit, which is a LOT for shocks and springs, but I'll update the thread when I get them. It's entirely too cold and wintery in Chicago to be putting them on soon, so I'll probably have them put on in March sometime.

I liked the Eibach pro kit springs on my last two M3's (E46 and E90). The springs are progressive so the initial spring rate is actually less stiff than stock and it goes up as you compress the springs. Quite a nice compromise for the daily driver that needs to be a little lower.

Parts only. Luickily Chicago has a few reputable indie shops that do great BMW work, but I assume its gonna be another 500 at least in labor.
