Hi the screen arrived but is more like a violet display compared to the others that are black

do you know what are the differences please?

Looking good! I'm trying to decide between getting a 10.25" from AVIN w/ Android 7.1 or used NBT from eBay... the latter would probably give the car a bit higher attractiveness. The price would be approximately the same.

if you have an iphone i suggest the orginal BMW nbt evo g30 screen with wireless carplay i've paid mine 1200€ compared to the andorid that is around 800 ( not orginal and it's chinese)

i will post some guide and picture as soon as i mount it on saturday

So last night I got the F15 touchscreen (part number 681638702) working on my 18 F80. Just like I posted a week before, it's not plug n play, you need coding.

However, coding was pretty easy, I only needed to code the resolution of the display to 1440xsomething using Bimmercode app and the display including touch function worked.

I then cut the back of the display and some part of the dashboard with dremel and it bolt right on.

I'll post some pictures later today.

Carplay doesnt come with the screen, it comes with the head unit. All g30 cars come with nbt evo which supports wireless carplay just like MY16+ f30.

The android screen looks square-ish, doesn't look like OEM to me. Also it doesn't support touch function in iDrive.

I am sorry I can't find any information on the violet display. However, as long as it works on g30 it should work on your nbt evo head unit with easy coding.

Can you guys who have fitted the X5 screen bind FM stations to keys still?
Mine just binds to "favourite channels" or "channel list" instead of the actual channel after switching to X5 screen from 6,5" one.

Hi all,
i've mounted it it's G30 screen and look anssome with touch screen function

i had to trim :
*)the dashboard holes where the metal support goes ( the one with the holes for screw) nd make new holes for the screw also had to cut the metal support in the back in order to fit it
*)back of the display plastic

result is very good

i still have to fabricate with fibreglass the back of the display in order to match the dash but is not a big deal

Go to the head unit module, choose expert mode. Then search "display" and change all relative settings (3-4 of them including display size, resolution, map resolution and stuff...) to 10.25 inch and 1440xsomething (I can't remember the exact resolution but you won't miss it).

After you code it the screen works immediately.
You need to change them back if you want to go back to stock.

Couple points I wanted to get clarified:

- There is conflicting information about whether a slight incision under the screens location is required as per one of the earlier posts on pages 3-5. Is this really required when trimming the reverse metal frame housing?

- I own a dremel but not used it for a while, what attachments have people been using, discs? With the trimming, does the metal break loose once deep but not deep enough to damage the reverse of the screen? Or did the majority work upwards from the base with a grinder tip?

- I won’t be purchasing a screen until I can confirm what headunit I have (vehicle purchased 2 days ago only). By guess work and facts, late 2014 with 6NS and business nav standard, meaning entry_nav. Again, mentioned but not confirmed, would 9347878 couple up well with the above mentioned nav unit (after coding resolution and “breites”)?

- Busniess nav is mentioned to be 2D only, is this a limitation from it being paired with a 6.5” screen or the hardware? I.e can I program this feature in once I change over to a larger screen?

-Split screen, does this require any programming? I have yet to get the chance to check this on my current screen, but it is unlikely I have this (go on the assumption I don’t)

Cars made in late 2014 with business nav should have HU_ENTRYNAV. I have the same unit (but without nav) and I've tested these two screens for F3x. If 9347878 is the same gen as those two, it should work.

Here's a photo of business nav on a larger 8.8" screen, I guess it won't "magically" upgrade itself to 3D (BMW wants you to buy pro nav for that reason).

Split screen works automatically after you code the head unit for the larger screen.

Anybody here who has retrofitted a G11/G12 screen on an F30-F36 model or has heard somewhere else or from someone that it can be done? G11 screen differs quite a bit in shape from G30 one so before purchasing I'd like to know if there is any reasonable chance that it can be done?
