Cold start strangeness
First post, long time reader! I searched this quite a bit so hopefully I'm not adding to the noise.
I have a 2014 435i xDrive 6MT that I have owned about a month (came from an F30 328i). Really love this car. I noticed recently that on cold starts, my car will fire normally, then immediately after cranking the revs will settle around normal *warm* idle speed. About a second later they will jump to 1250 or so (around where you'd expect a cold idle to be). I don't feel a stumble in between right now, though the idle speed does fluctuate for a few seconds after the revs increase. Car runs beautifully all other times (pulls like a sumbitch, too), I guess I just want to make sure this isn't the early signs of a fuel issue. I believe this one is the N55, not the 54 so I'd assume those issues don't apply or at least not to the same degree.... Thanks in advance Last edited by powerrrwiththreeRs; 11-16-2016 at 10:18 AM.. |

To be honest I dont think its anything serious, and I dont think its a fuel issue, because if it was a fuel issue the car would barley run or the engine would die, my cars rpms change like that sometimes too, I have a 2013 Bmw 328i xdrive luxury line, bottom line cold cars do strange things sometimes..
