the 365hp in articles is from people not understanding that is going to be the M performance version, maybe called M340i or M345i. This would compete directly with the new 362HP C450 (which has over 380 torque as well).

I just hope this is offered in the 4 Gran Coupe (with AWD) since this is no full blown M version of that car.
The new C450 is still slower than a PPK 335...
I am a huge fan of the PPK but I don't think it will stand a chance against the C450

M3 for the win

My take on the LCI is you can get a great deal on the pre LCI right now (especially if you do euro delivery), rather than (most likely) having to go back to negotiating a little bit off msrp

Word. 335 w/ MPPK is fast enough. I need AWD for work as I head out into remote sites for work that don't get plowed.

It was either get a 335 xdrive or an X4.

Not sure I'm ready for an SUV.

I need AWD for DD also but with MT. Already have the keeper e92M
But regarding new turbo DI engine: do not want carbon build up in this new B58. Hopefully BMW has evolved the N55....

^^^

ynguldyn! Are you trying to tell us that we should expect 380hp and not just 365hp??? That would make more sense.

That is contradictory to everything we've read to date.

I dunno about that. The quoted estimates from Mercedes makes it sound like it'll merely keep up with our cars:

Quote:
Considering this, the C450 builds on the standard C400's 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6, rather than getting a bespoke, high-performance engine. Output is up from 329 horsepower to 362 ponies, while torque is turned up from 354 pound-feet to 384 lb-ft. The result of these upgrades is a zippy 0-60-mile-per-hour sprint of 4.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Those figures are identical to the Audi S4, while the BMW 335i xDrive is just a smidge quicker to 60, getting there in 4.8 seconds
http://www.autoblog.com/2015/01/12/2...roit-official/

Granted Mercedes could be doing what BMW and Audi typically do with their estimates, go conservative.

That sounds like a lot of fun!

If I was in your shoes I would use that as an excuse to get an SVT Raptor and jump over stuff on the way to work, or a heavily modded STi hatch and drift around stuff on the way to work

winning!

My take, power to weight ratio is more or less equal between the two. The transmissions are not, ZF8 trumps SPEEDSHIFT 7 (or whatever the hell version MB uses this time around).

I'm half tempted to just say F it and get a X4 35i but I'm afraid I'll miss my car. You can still drift in the 335 too!

I'm more concerned about "beached" on an unplowed road in the 335.

I did that to a C class at a winter track day.. no fun digging it out. Don't want to imagine that happening in the middle of nowhere.

Don't do it with the X435. Too porky. GLA45 on the other hand...

The C400 already tested at 4.7 with a 13.1 qtr.

With the additional power and Tq the C450 is at a minimum identical to the 35i with PPK to 60 but it should be all over at the qtr. 360+ hp from Mercedes is no joke
