I believe the bars symbolize the range gained in stages. As you gain more range, those blue bars increase.

My first post in here. The bars do change a little but I think its ridiculous that the most prime center section seems totally undefined or even explained in the manual, or anywhere else for that matter.
We just bought our first BMW last week and trying to figure this out too, along with a few other odd things. On a related note, we almost bought an A5 instead and loved that panel, but I believe the 6wb has potential for future ota updates to make far better use of the center section of the panel, which is usually just a blank waste of space. Just hope they dont use it to flash ads at us! |

Then maybe some sort of aftermarket update? Does it have to be BMW that does the coding?
If the screen has decent resolution I see no reason why you couldnt program it to display almost any data the idrive system monitors, and in almost any form. |

BMW does not release any feature updates, only fixes and compatibility updates for devices such as phones. You won't get any fancy new features unless you buy a newer generation car ;-)

Can't find it now, but from memory - 1 bar is 1KM range extension, 2bars is 10km, etc. Quite silly indeed. That beautiful display basically wasted. Unused space.

I use Eco Pro for part of my homeward commute, and yesterday accessed the EcoPro Driving Dynamics screen, or whatever it's called. It displayed on my iDrive, however, and the blue pathway looked more like a roller coaster that has been warped by an earthquake. I had no idea it represented a range.

Well, I got 5 stars each in Acceleration and Anticipation, so I'd guess my in-town driving is EcoPro-ish enough. Probably my on-screen "road" looked like a broken highway because I was in stop-and-go traffic (though I'd love to believe it was because the streets here look as though they've been shelled by an invading army).

I know that thread is a bit old, but if someone are interested on, can try with: ECO_RW_GRAPHIK_ENABLE in KOMBI In my case this option was inactive. Best regards Dominik |
