Best Catted DP for my setup

Hey everyone,

Looking for some feedback regarding a catted DP for my 340i. I've read various posts where some say a catted does not make much difference in sound and performance, and some say they make a huge improvement. I am not stock, so not sure if that helps bring out some sound paired with the DP.

Currently I am running an M Perfomance Exhaust, Dinan Midpipe, and a Dinan CAI. I'd like to naturally increase the exhaust notes I get with my current setup (more MPPSK sounding) but not doing so with a burble tune as I feel like those sound too cheesy and fake.

Catless is also not an option as I can't stand the smell and I have a child I do not want to expose to those fumes. I've read higher end DP's like AA don't throw CELs but then some people still get them, while some get no CELs on the entry level models like VRSF & CTS.

Thanks for any feedback.

DP does change the exhaust sound a lot. The OEM cat is a very high cell count which works as a "muffler" for the sound.

I've ran the ER catted DP for 3 years now, with no CEL. Smell is slight when idling in a garage, or windows down at a stop light and a tailwind. Ran the VRSF one, and got a CEL everyday and it's very large cat had a nasty exhaust note.

Hmm I just found the ER Catted DP for 35% off today. I may pull the trigger. Yours made a decent difference in sound?

Yes, really nice refined tone. Highly recommend it, and at that price, even better!

2 years with AA catted DP. No check engine. Deeper exhaust note. Slightly more power.

I had CG 5" no CEL it was probably the best dp I had and I also had the ER catted, but that's more on the 4" side. As far as catless I always prefer the ER.

We'll I was running it tuned so it would of never threw a code, but the CG was with a JB4 in the early B58 days and it never threw a code. I only switched to a catless when I installed a Pure 800 turbo.

Evolution Racewerks is handbuilt in the US, and their finish quality and fitment are second to none.

Unfortunately, they do not use the highest quality cats; you are more likely to trigger the check engine light with this downpipe.

No, absolutely not. 2+ years with it now. Don't expect it to either, it's an HJS cat inside, as you know.
