I wish we had wiper replacement as part of our 4 year service up here, would have saved me the $100 or so it cost for replacement blades.

I bought pretty good ones for 30$ off of canadian tire

But yeah, if we had the maintenance things like the US do, we'd be saving tons of money on clutches, brakes and wipers.

Good news is our dollar is start to rise, hopefully it rises to 0.90+ cents so I can buy a ton of car parts and not worry about currency.

The thing is I never talked about the wipers. In fact, I have never even used my wipers in the 15 months I've had my car. So is my dealer scamming BMW NA? I know it isnt a lot but if they do this sort of small warranty repair on a bunch of cars I am sure it all adds up.

This might be one reason wiper blades will no longer be included in the "new" modified maintenance plan.

All parts removed for warranty issues that were not immediately returned to Volvo for inspection were retained by dealer and kept available to be spot inspected quarterly by Volvo Parts Rep. Dealers caught cheating paid a lot more they ever would have stood to gain. Plenty of Tech's would do what you describe and many of them wound up working at the independent garages because of it.

Another first hand experience. I actually heard that years ago from a mechanic as well.
