Oil for a 2018 F32 440i.
Hi All,
I know if this question is asked to 10 different people you will get 10 different answers but I want to find out if there is any major reasons why I should not go ahead. Ideally, I want to use Shell Helix Ultra ECT C3 0W-30 in the car, I have been looking to get a 20L drum of it but just can't get hold of it. I can find the same oil in 5W-30. Any reasons as to why I should not go ahead and use the 5W-30. Plan to use 10000 mile change intervals, car is UK based. Looking to use the shell oil as it would appear the B58 runs very well on it. Many thanks for your help RPM |

The only reason for using 0W is ambient temperatures colder than you ever have in the UK other than in the Highlands. I use 5W, and my winter temperatures can stay below freezing for weeks on end.
